IOS trainer

The iOS Trainer will be responsible for delivering high-quality training on iOS app development to undergraduate engineering students. The role involves end-to-end ownership of the learning journey i.e. classroom delivery to project mentoring, evaluation, and industry-oriented grooming.

The trainer will work closely with the iOS Development Center leadership and industry partners to ensure that students are trained on the latest iOS technologies.

Key Responsibilities for Training Delivery

• Conduct instructor-led sessions on Swift, Xcode, UIKit, SwiftUI, CoreData/SwiftData, Combine, CoreML, AVFoundation, CloudKit, related iOS frameworks, etc. • Teach fundamental CS and app development concepts: MVC/MVVM patterns, REST APIs, JSON, local storage, version control (Git), debugging, and deployment basics. • Use real-world examples, live coding, and hands-on labs to ensure strong conceptual clarity and practical skills. • Develop and maintain training materials: slides, code repositories, sample apps, assessments, and documentation. • Continuously incorporate feedback from students, placement teams, and industry partners to enhance the course. • Mentor students through end-to-end app development projects: ideation, wireframing, architecture, coding, testing, and publishing. • Conduct regular doubt-clearing sessions, code reviews, and one-to-one mentoring for students needing additional support. • Track and report student performance, attendance, engagement, and learning outcomes. • Identify low-performing learners and design targeted remedial plans or bridge sessions. • Maintain transparent records and share periodic progress reports with the Program Coordinator / Management.

Required Qualifications

Education - Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related discipline. Experience - 2–5+ years of hands-on iOS app development experience using Swift and Xcode and/or 2–5+ years of teaching/training experience in mobile app development, preferably iOS.

Technical Skills • Strong proficiency in Swift and familiarity with Objective-C (optional but desirable). • Experience with Xcode, UIKit, SwiftUI, Auto Layout, and storyboards / programmatic UI. • Good understanding of design patterns (MVC, MVVM) and clean code practices. • Experience integrating REST APIs, handling JSON/XML, and working with networking libraries. • Basic knowledge of Git/GitHub and collaborative development workflows. • Familiarity with at least some of: CoreData/SwiftData, AVFoundation, CoreML/Create ML, Push Notifications, App Store submission process.

Soft Skills & Competencies • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English (and local language, if applicable). • Strong classroom management and ability to handle large batches of students. • Passion for teaching, mentoring, and student success. • Ability to simplify complex technical concepts with patience and clarity. • Strong ownership mindset, accountability, and time management. • Collaborative attitude to work with faculty, management, and industry partners. • Orientation towards design thinking, problem-solving, and innovation in teaching.

Good-to-Have[Optional] • Experience working on or guiding apps deployed to the App Store. • Prior involvement in university–industry collaborative programmes • Experience conducting technical workshops, bootcamps, or corporate training. • Any Industry-recognised certifications related to iOS or mobile development.
