Job Description
ABOUT OOLIO:
Oolio is a leading B2B SaaS platform transforming how hospitality venues operate and grow. Trusted by more than 22,000 venues, we power mission-critical POS, payments, online ordering, kiosks, loyalty, kitchen management, and real-time insights — all within one connected ecosystem.
We are building the operating system for modern hospitality — simplifying complex operations, accelerating service, and unlocking smarter, data-driven decisions. Built by hospitality professionals with decades of industry experience, we understand the realities of every shift, every service rush, and every guest interaction. From cafés and quick-service restaurants to pubs, multi-site groups, and stadiums, Oolio enables venues to operate seamlessly at scale. With next-business-day settlements, powerful third-party integrations, and 24/7 real human support, we go beyond software — we become long-term partners in growth.
As a rapidly scaling product-led organisation, we’re shaping the future of hospitality technology.
We build the technology backbone that powers modern hospitality businesses to perform, compete, and thrive at scale.
JOB DESCRIPTION:
At Oolio,
Senior Platform Engineers
are builders of the internal foundation that powers our engineering velocity. You will take ownership of designing and evolving a secure, scalable, and developer-friendly cloud platform that enables product teams to build, test, deploy, and operate mission-critical B2B SaaS systems with confidence.
This is not a traditional DevOps role. We are looking for engineers who understand how applications are built, architected, and scaled — and who can translate that knowledge into a world-class internal platform. You will collaborate closely with Product Engineering, Security, and Architecture teams to create reliable infrastructure, improve developer experience, and drive operational excellence across Oolio.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Own and evolve Oolio’s cloud infrastructure and Kubernetes ecosystem across development, staging, and production environments.
Design, build, and operate production-grade Kubernetes clusters with strong emphasis on scalability, security, workload isolation, and cost optimization.
Improve developer tooling and internal platform capabilities including build systems, CI/CD pipelines, artifact management, and release automation.
Enhance local development environments by enabling reproducible builds, containerized development workflows, and environment parity between local and production systems.
Architect and implement Infrastructure-as-Code using Terraform (or similar), ensuring repeatable, auditable, and secure infrastructure provisioning.
Drive observability best practices including monitoring, metrics, distributed tracing, logging, alerting, and SLO-driven reliability engineering.
Define and implement platform-level standards for security including IAM, RBAC, secrets management, network policies, and compliance guardrails.
Partner closely with backend engineering teams to optimize application performance, scaling strategies, and resource efficiency.
Lead initiatives to improve platform reliability, availability, disaster recovery readiness, and incident management processes.
Build internal tools and automation to simplify infrastructure provisioning and reduce friction for engineering teams.
Troubleshoot complex production infrastructure and platform issues, conduct root cause analysis, and implement long-term systemic improvements.
Participate in architecture reviews and guide engineering teams on cloud-native design patterns and distributed systems best practices.
Mentor engineers and promote a strong culture of ownership, automation, and operational excellence.

Proven experience building and maintaining Infrastructure-as-Code frameworks in production SaaS environments.
Strong understanding of CI/CD architecture, build optimization, deployment strategies (blue/green, canary), and release governance.
Solid knowledge of observability systems including metrics, logs, tracing, and SLO/SLA-driven reliability practices.
Experience implementing secure cloud architecture patterns including IAM design, secrets management, and policy enforcement.
