Job Title: Full-Time Faculty Coordinator – Innovation Lab
Reporting to Director-Skill Development.
Job Description:
The Faculty Coordinator will lead and manage the operations, innovation activities, student engagement programs, and ecosystem collaborations of the Leap Innovation Lab. The role involves driving student innovation projects, mentoring startup teams, coordinating with K-Tech/KITS, managing lab infrastructure, and ensuring achievement of key performance indicators as per government guidelines.
Key Responsibilities
1. Lab Operations & Administration
Oversee day-to-day functioning of the Leap Innovation Lab.
Ensure optimal utilization of lab equipment, prototyping tools, and infrastructure.
Maintain asset records, compliance documentation, and reporting as per K-Tech guidelines.
Coordinate procurement and maintenance of equipment under CAPEX/OPEX norms.
2. Innovation & Startup Development
Identify and nurture innovative student ideas and early-stage startups.
Guide teams through ideation, problem validation, prototype development, and business model creation.
Support teams in preparing pitch decks, project reports, and grant proposals.
Facilitate incubation pathway for high-potential ideas.
3. Program Execution & Student Engagement
Organize hackathons, innovation challenges, bootcamps, workshops, and awareness programs.
Conduct entrepreneurship orientation sessions for students and faculty.
Build innovation culture across departments.
Track and monitor student innovation projects.
4. Government Coordination & Reporting
Liaise with K-Tech / KITS officials for program updates and compliance.
Submit periodic progress reports, utilization certificates, and impact reports.
Ensure adherence to government guidelines and KPIs.
5. Industry & Ecosystem Collaboration
Develop partnerships with industry mentors, startups, investors, and ecosystem enablers.
Invite domain experts for mentoring sessions and technical workshops.
Facilitate internships, industry projects, and startup networking opportunities.
6. Faculty & Institutional Integration
Encourage interdisciplinary innovation projects.
Coordinate with department heads for integrating innovation into curriculum.
Promote IPR filing, patent drafting support, and research commercialization.
7. Monitoring & Impact Measurement
Track KPIs such as:
Number of student innovations supported
Prototypes developed
Startups incubated
Grants secured
Patents/IP filed
Industry collaborations
Prepare impact documentation and success stories.
Required Qualifications
Master’s Degree in Engineering / Technology / Management / Innovation / Entrepreneurship.
Minimum 1-3 years of academic/industry/startup ecosystem experience.
Experience in innovation management, product Development, or research projects preferred.
