Designation - Senior Manager – Operations – HigherEducation India
Location: Bangalore
Function: Program Operations | Platform Operations | Cross-functional Execution
Role Overview -
The Senior Manager – Operations will own end-to-end operational excellence across upGrad’s digital platforms and academic programs. This role is responsible for website & backend operations, program launches, program run excellence, and cross-functional coordination to ensure seamless learner experience and delivery of differentiated program USPs at scale.
This is a high-impact role requiring strong execution rigor, stakeholder management, and the ability to operate in a fast-paced, matrixed environment.
Key Responsibilities (KRAs) -
1. Website & Platform Operations -
Own
end-to-end management of upGrad’s website
from an operations lens (program pages, updates, go-live readiness).
Ensure
accuracy, timeliness, and consistency
of program information, pricing, cohorts, and academic details.
Work closely with Product, Tech, Marketing, and Content teams to manage releases, fixes, and enhancements.
Act as the operations SPOC for platform-related execution issues and resolutions.
2. Backend & Program Operations -
Manage
backend operational workflows
related to learner onboarding, cohort creation, content readiness, batches, and certifications.
Ensure
smooth running of live and recorded programs
across multiple universities and partners.
Drive process standardization and automation to improve speed, quality, and scalability.
3. Program Launch Excellence -
Own
end-to-end program launch execution
including:
1.Academic readiness
2.Platform readiness
3.Content & assessment setup
4. Internal team enablement
Coordinate across Academic, Product, Marketing, Sales, Tech, Finance, and University stakeholders to ensure
on-time, zero-defect launches

Create and maintain launch playbooks, checklists, and SOPs.
4. Data Analysis and Reporting -
Track, analyze, and interpret customer data, usage patterns, and feedback to identify trends and opportunities for improvement.
Generate regular reports and present findings to internal stakeholders, contributing to data-driven decision-making.
5. Cross-Functional Stakeholder Management -
Drive alignment across multiple internal teams and external partners.
Act as a
central execution leader
, ensuring clarity of ownership, timelines, and outcomes.
Lead forums, reviews, and cadence meetings to track execution progress.
Required Skills & Experience -
7–10 years of experience in operations, program management, platform operations, or large-scale execution roles.
Prior experience in EdTech, startup preferred.
Strong ability to manage complex, cross-functional programs with multiple dependencies.
High ownership mindset with strong attention to detail and execution rigor.
Excellent stakeholder communication and problem-solving skills.
Comfort with ambiguity and fast-paced environments.
