Position: SharePoint Administrator
Location: Bangalore
Experience Required: 5 - 8 Years (Minimum 3 Years exp in Administrator role)
Qualification: Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science / Information Technology or related discipline
About the Role
We are seeking an experienced SharePoint professional to join our Global IT Centre of Excellence in Bangalore.
This role will lead the administration, governance, and continuous enhancement of our global SharePoint environment, ensuring it is secure, scalable, high-performing, and aligned with a defined global architecture.
The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in SharePoint Online, Microsoft 365, and Power Platform experience (PowerApps & Power Automate), with proven experience in solution design, permissions governance, workflow automation, and stakeholder collaboration within a global environment.
Roles & Responsibilities:
SharePoint Administration & Solution Delivery:
Design, implement, and maintain SharePoint sites, libraries, lists, and workflows to meet business requirements.
Develop custom SharePoint solutions using Power Platform (PowerApps, Power Automate) and third‑party tools.
Administer SharePoint permissions, site collections, and security groups to ensure compliance and data integrity.
Monitor system performance, availability, and security, proactively resolving issues and incidents.
Coordinate platform upgrades, patching, integration activities, and system enhancements across Global IT
Stakeholder Collaboration & Governance:
Work with global and regional stakeholders to gather requirements and translate them into intuitive, scalable solutions.
Contribute to the definition and implementation of a standardised global SharePoint architecture.
Support the CIO with specialist SharePoint insight to help deliver IT and business strategic goals.
Collaborate with the CIO and CDO to drive alignment across IT and Digital transformation initiatives.
Promote best practice through end‑user training, documentation, and ongoing support.
Continuous Improvement & Change Leadership:
Lead SharePoint‑related projects through the full lifecycle—from initiation to benefits realisation.
Challenge legacy processes and identify opportunities for automation, simplification, and optimisation.
Define and support service level and operational agreements in partnership with Global Operations.
Build trust in Global IT through consistent service delivery, transparent reporting, and high professional standards.
Global Permissions & Access Governance - To ensure SharePoint supports secure and scalable collaboration, it would be beneficial to state that this role will:
Lead the design and ongoing management of a standardised global permissions model.
Align permission structures with our data classification, security, and compliance frameworks.
Provide specialist oversight on access models to support collaboration, automation, and risk management.
Working with the AI team to ensure SharePoint data structures, metadata, and security models are optimised for AI solutions, including Copilot and future integrations.
Ensuring SharePoint is architected in a way that supports secure AI-driven insights, automation, and knowledge discovery.
Supporting alignment between SharePoint, Digital, and the broader AI strategy.
Essential Skills & Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related discipline.
Minimum 5-8 years’ experience as a SharePoint Administrator or equivalent role.
Expertise in SharePoint Online and SharePoint 2016/2019, including site architecture and workflow design.
Strong Power Platform experience (PowerApps, Power Automate) and familiarity with SharePoint Designer.
Solid understanding of the Microsoft 365 ecosystem and its integration with SharePoint.
Knowledge of security, compliance, governance, and best‑practice administration.
Proven troubleshooting and problem‑resolution capabilities.
Strong communication, documentation, and stakeholder‑management skills.
Ability to operate effectively within a fast‑paced, multicultural environment
Preferred:
Experience with SharePoint migration tools and methodologies.
Scripting skills (PowerShell, JavaScript) for automation and customisation.
Familiarity with Teams, OneDrive, Exchange Online, and other M365 applications.
Microsoft certifications in SharePoint or related technologies.
Experience delivering outcomes in large, complex, multi‑site organisations.
Understanding of finance, HR, and other enterprise applications.
Ability to implement solutions with minimal disruption to business‑as‑usual operations.
Experience driving change across IT or digital systems in a project‑based environment.
Microsoft 365 Certified: Fundamentals
Microsoft 365 Certified: Teamwork Administrator
