TITLE: Sr. Director, Human Resources

REPORTS TO: Global Head of Human Resources in the USA COMPANY: Global Media Company LOCATION: Bengaluru, Karnataka, India (full-time, on-site staff position)

NOTE: Company offers transportation services to commuting employees.

Position Summary

The Sr. Director of Human Resources, Bangalore, will cultivate and maintain a people strategy that engages our people and manages the unique needs of a global service-oriented business. This position will partner with the senior leadership team and be a part of the leadership council in strategic decision-making. This role reports into the global HR team and is key to the balance of integrating the global structure and maintaining a Bangalore focus.

Main Duties

o Be a true partner to the leadership team in workforce planning, analysis and creating an office culture of equity, inclusion, and diversity that attracts, supports, and retains talent. o Understand the business, goals, and challenges in order to identify and address issues and opportunities building a successful workforce. o Drive the unity of the overall administration, coordination, and evaluation of the human resource function with dual reporting for certain roles to global teams. o Strategically guide the Talent Acquisition team to increase employer branding, uncover new talent pools and partner directly with the business. o Partner with global HR leads and legal. o Maintain the necessary level of business and financial understanding of the companyโ€™s financials, culture, and market competitors. o Coach business directors/people managers on performance management, employee relations, and mentorship. o Manage and develop the HR team. o Provide direction and support for local compensation, benefits, wellness, and HRIS initiatives. o Ensure legal and statutory compliance by monitoring and implementing applicable human resource law and policy requirements. o Ensure effective communication of policies, procedures and practices; accuracy of informationreported; and resolution of issues and inquiries. o Manage and regularly engage hybrid or permanently remote team members. o Develop strategies and actions to increase employee engagement and commitment. o Create and implement a people development strategy that meets current and future needs of the business that helps motivate and retain key talent. o Build greater consistency in how performance is managed across the business o Develop pathways to support employee growth. o Ensure effective and timely internal communication throughout the business. o Be the guardian of company values making sure that they are engrained in the business o Support the awareness of the employer brand externally as well as internally o Any ad hoc project work as required. o HR platforms: Workday, Jira, LinkedIn Learning

Qualifications

o 12+ years of progressive Human Resources experience, with at least 5 years in a leadership role focused on HR Ops and BP management. o Ability to stay on top of the changes in various labor laws and shifts in government guidelines to keep employees safe. o Experience leading a HR team for a 24X7 business operation. o Experience leading the HR function for an organization of over 1,500 people. o Ability to maintain focus and composure under high volume pressure. o Proven ability to understand business and drive effective change to meet the business challenges. o Proven success managing multiple projects and/or systems implementations. o Possesses a strong results-oriented drive and well organized. o Balance the business and people needs to meet overall goals o Team focused, down to earth style that builds trust, encourages collaboration, transparent communication and continuous learning. o Exceptional verbal and written communication skills; proven ability to communicate effectively and influence all levels of staff. o Lead by example and demonstrate excellence and integrity in everything we do. o Exceptional influencing and relationship building skills. o Adept at handling multiple competing priorities and duties in a fast-paced, results driven, rapidly changing environment. o Experience working with a global HR system like Workday. o Ability to maintain strict confidentiality at all times.
