JOB DESCRIPTION:

Title: Junior Analyst/Programmer (PowerBuilder & Windows)

The GBS-UK Development Tribe is responsible for the development and maintenance of a wide range of critical business applications, some of which are deployed on a Windows or Linux platform.

The Role:

• Assisting with development by gathering information, performing analysis, and eliciting the details of user requirements in discussion with users.

• Designing applications in line with the required business and operational requirements, while being compatible with the design guidelines.

• Preparing detailed specifications from which programs will be coded.

• Writing the code modules or objects.

• Undertaking analysis and validating the outcome of the coding and testing tasks, working within a team.

• Liaising with client to understand system requirements and existing business process.

• Supporting testing teams (problem analysis and bug fixing) during the testing phases of projects.

• Supporting application software running in production by fixing problems and making enhancements.

Requirements:

• Experience working in a Development Environment.

• A good proficiency in PowerBuilder and SQL & PL/SQL, and C++.

• Capability and enthusiasm to learn the business logic behind our applications.

• Capability to understand client needs or technical requirements, in order to apply development skills or knowledge.

• Enthusiasm to be involved in Analysis, Design, Coding, Subsystem Testing, Application Integration and Support.

• Enthusiasm to become knowledgeable in Euroclear’s Agile working methods and practices.

• Fluency in spoken and written English.

• Capability and enthusiasm to handle multiple assignments simultaneously in a fast-paced working environment.
