Job description

The main responsibilities are: ∙Architect and maintain robust database solutions across SQL Server and Azure platforms. ∙Design and optimize data models for transactional and analytical workloads. ∙Develop, test, and maintain complex SQL queries, stored procedures, triggers, and functions. ∙Lead performance tuning efforts including query optimization, indexing, and partitioning. ∙Collaborate with solution architects and developers to align database design with business needs. ∙Implement best practices for database security, backup, recovery, and disaster recovery. ∙Demonstrate strong ownership and accountability for database platforms. ∙Lead troubleshooting and resolution of complex database incidents and production issues. ∙Provide on-call or escalation support as required. ∙Drive root cause analysis (RCA) and implement preventive measures. ∙Drive automation initiatives for deployment, monitoring, and maintenance. ∙Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior engineers and SQL developers. ∙Stay ahead of emerging cloud-native database technologies and recommend adoption where beneficial

Skills & Competencies • Minimum 5+ years of professional experience in database engineering and SQL development. • Advanced expertise in SQL Server and Azure SQL Database. • Strong knowledge of data modeling techniques (ER diagrams, normalization, dimensional modeling). • Proven experience in query tuning, indexing strategies, and performance optimization. • Hands-on experience with SQL development (stored procedures, triggers, views, functions). • Experience with Azure services (Data Factory, Synapse, Cosmos DB). • Familiarity with NoSQL databases and hybrid architectures. • Strong problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills. • Ability to lead projects, mentor teams, and collaborate across functions.
