Senior Data Engineer

Job Purpose We are seeking a Senior Data Engineer to work within our Fusion Analytics reporting team who will work closely with our Architect team to design, develop and deliver the pipelines required for our next generation of BI Analytics.

Roles and Responsibilities

Data Pipeline Development: Design and implement data pipelines and modelling of data required by business requirements and our customer’s needs for presentation using AWS QuickSight. Create interactive visualizations and optimize for performance and usability.

Data Integration & Management: Connect QuickSight to AWS data sources (S3, Redshift, RDS, Iceberg, Snowflake, etc). Manage datasets, data preparation, and ensure data accuracy and integrity.

Automation & Infrastructure: Automate report generation and user onboarding using AWS Lambda, Python, or Bash scripts. Maintain QuickSight infrastructure with best practices for security, authentication, and scalability. Work closely with our DevOps teams.

Collaboration & Support: Work closely with business stakeholders, other data engineers, and architects to gather requirements. Provide training and support to end-users and our support teams on backend pipeline functionalities.

Performance & Troubleshooting: Monitor and optimize dashboard performance in terms of data veracity. Troubleshoot issues related to data connectivity, visualization, and user access.

Continuous Improvement: Stay updated on Data engineering technologies, features and best practices. Contribute to process improvements and standardization of reporting solutions.

Requirements Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, Data Analytics, or related field. Proven experience with AWS QuickSight or equivalent BI tools. Strong knowledge of SQL. Data Cleansing and Transformation (Event and Batch). Familiarity with AWS services (S3 - Iceberg, Redshift, Glue, Lambda, Athena). Experience with scripting languages (Python, Bash) for automation. Understanding of Data Quality and Governance. Understanding of data visualization best practices. QuickSight integration with existing Products (e.g CloudFront UIs). Experience in QuickSight Pretty Print Reports and Dashboards. Strong understanding of Performance and Scale of Data System.
