Position Name: Charging & Charging Infrastructure- Functional Safety Export

Department: Research and Development

Functional Area: Electric and Electronics

Qualification: B.E/B. Tech/Post Graduate Electrical & Electronics

Purpose of the Position

- Ensures a development of control units from cluster energy management and charging from the point of view of functional safety, their testing, implementation control from the supplier. - Assigns and ensures the creation of documentation. - Creates, analyses, checks the testing description. - Controls the releases (from the point of view functional safety) of components and functions from cluster energy management and charging.

Authority

- Authorize functional safety release of charging system components and functions. - Approve supplier functional safety deliverables and compliance documentation. - Validate and sign off FuSi work products (HARA, FSC, TSC, safety validation reports). - Decide on deviations and corrective actions for identified functional safety non-conformities.

Skills Required

- Communication in English - Analytical & problem solving skills - Good knowledge about automobile technics - Product development knowledge for ICE BEV components including charging systems - Good administrative skills : ability to plan , develop and structure

Responsibilities and Tasks

- Functional Safety Concept Development

Define, develop, and maintain Functional Safety Concepts (FSC) and Technical Safety Concepts (TSC) for charging and energy management ECUs as per ISO 26262.

- Safety Requirements Engineering

Derive, document, and maintain system, hardware, and software safety requirements; ensure traceability to hazards and functions.

- Hazard Analysis & Risk Assessment (HARA)

Perform and update HARA for charging-related systems (e.g., OBC, EVCC, DCDC, EMCU); identify ASIL levels and safety goals.

- Supplier Coordination & Technical Oversight

Interface with suppliers to ensure proper functional safety implementation, work product delivery, and compliance.

- Safety Verification & Validation Planning

Define and review test concepts, test cases, and validation plan to verify safety mechanisms and safety requirements.

- Test Description Creation & Analysis

Create, analyze, and check detailed test descriptions and test results for compliance with FuSi requirements.

- Safety Case & Evidence Review

Evaluate supplier safety cases, evidence, and work products for completeness and accuracy before release.

- Component & Function Release Control

Approve component and function releases from a functional safety perspective during project gate reviews.

- Failure & Fault Analysis

Support FMEA, FMEDA, DFA, and fault-injection analysis to ensure safety integrity and diagnostic coverage.

- Change & Configuration Management

Ensure all FuSi documents, requirements, and tests are properly version-controlled and aligned with release baselines.

- Cross-Domain Collaboration

Work with system, software, hardware, and testing teams to ensure end-to-end safety alignment across domains.

- Safety Audits & Assessments Support

Prepare documentation and support internal/external FuSi audits, assessments, and reviews.

- Training & Knowledge Sharing

Support internal training sessions and knowledge exchange on functional safety practices for charging systems.

- Tool & Process Compliance

Ensure the use of approved FuSi tools and adherence to corporate development processes (ASPICE, ISO 26262).

- Continuous Improvement & Lessons Learned

Capture lessons from project experience to improve safety processes, templates, and future implementations.
