Training & Development Manager (Solar EPC) Department: Human Resources / Learning & Development Reporting To: Director / COO / HR Head Location: Corporate Office + Site Travel as Required --- 1. Role Overview The Training & Development Manager will be responsible for designing, implementing, and institutionalising a structured learning ecosystem across the organisation to enhance technical competency, safety standards, quality benchmarks, and leadership capabilities. The role will play a critical function in building a future-ready workforce for Rooftop & Ground-Mount Solar EPC projects by creating structured training pathways, certification programs, and a digital Learning Management System (LMS). --- 2. Key Objectives Build a technically competent execution workforce Standardise engineering & safety practices across sites Reduce project errors, rework, and punch points Accelerate onboarding productivity Institutionalise Swid-level execution & quality benchmarks Digitise organisational knowledge via LMS modules --- 3. Key Responsibilities A. Training Strategy & Framework Develop organisation-wide annual training calendar Conduct Training Needs Analysis (TNA) across departments Define skill matrices for: Project Managers Project Engineers Site Supervisors Safety Officers Technicians Design Engineers Sales & Business Development Teams Build role-based competency development pathways --- B. Technical Training (Solar EPC Focus) Design and deliver structured modules on: Rooftop Solar EPC execution lifecycle Structural installation standards (3-rail / elevated / RCC / sheet roofs) DC & AC electrical design and execution Inverter installation & commissioning Module mounting best practices Earthing & Lightning Protection Systems Cable routing & termination standards SCADA & monitoring systems Zero Export & Net Metering integration BESS integration fundamentals --- C. Safety & Quality Training Develop mandatory safety certification programs Hot work, height work & electrical safety modules PPE compliance training Toolbox talk frameworks Incident response simulations Near-miss reporting culture training Industrial safety compliance awareness --- D. LMS Development & Digital Learning Lead end-to-end creation of the company's Learning Management System: Key Responsibilities: Design LMS architecture & course structure Convert SOPs into digital learning modules Develop: Video training content Animated process explainers Site demonstration recordings Voice-over presentations Interactive quizzes & assessments Upload certification pathways Track employee course completion Maintain training dashboards & analytics --- E. Content Creation & Knowledge Documentation Convert execution learnings into training assets Document case studies of project challenges & solutions Build "Do's & Don'ts" libraries Create: Installation manuals Safety handbooks Commissioning checklists Quality inspection guides --- F. Induction & Onboarding Training Design structured onboarding journeys Conduct new-employee induction programs Deploy role-specific technical onboarding Evaluate readiness before site deployment --- G. Leadership & Behavioral Development Develop training for: Team management Client communication Conflict resolution Time & project management Reporting & documentation discipline --- H. Vendor & OEM Training Coordination Coordinate certification programs with: Module manufacturers Inverter OEMs Structure vendors SCADA providers Ensure technical certifications for execution teams. --- I. Training Effectiveness & KPI Tracking Measure productivity improvement post-training Track reduction in: Site errors Safety incidents Rework cases Installation timelines Maintain skill scorecards & certification records --- 4. LMS Modules to be Developed (Indicative List) 1. Solar PV Fundamentals 2. Rooftop Survey Methodology 3. Structural Engineering Basics 4. DC Cabling & Termination 5. AC Integration & Synchronisation 6. Inverter Commissioning 7. Earthing & LA Systems 8. Safety Compliance Certification 9. Net Metering Documentation 10. Zero Export Controller Integration 11. SCADA Monitoring & Troubleshooting 12. O&M Best Practices --- 5. Qualification Requirements Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (Electrical / Mechanical / Renewable preferred) MBA / Certification in Training & Development (preferred) 5–10 years experience in Solar EPC / Infrastructure Training Prior LMS development experience mandatory --- 6. Technical Skill Requirements Solar PV system design & execution knowledge Understanding of industrial rooftop projects Familiarity with OEM technologies (SolarEdge / Huawei / Sungrow / SMA etc.) Knowledge of safety compliance standards Proficiency in LMS platforms (Moodle / TalentLMS / Docebo / Custom LMS) Video content creation tools (Camtasia, Articulate, Adobe Captivate etc.) --- 7. Behavioral Competencies Strong presentation & facilitation skills Ability to simplify complex engineering concepts Documentation excellence High process orientation Cross-functional collaboration capability Execution-driven mindset --- 8.
