About the role This is a full-time role based out of our Coimbatore campus (Kalapatti).

A little about Aalam We are not a typical school, and we don’t try to be one. A lot of what we do comes from trying to understand children better, and questioning how learning actually happens. Montessori, Krishnamurti, John Holt… these ideas influence us, but we are still figuring things out in our own way. So things may feel slower here. Less rushed. Sometimes unclear. But there is space to try, fail, rethink.

What the work looks like You will be working with students between 13 and 17, across IGCSE and A Level. At a very simple level: You will teach Physics You will plan your classes You will handle lab work and safety But beyond that: You will be dealing with very different kinds of learners in the same room You will need to find ways to make the subject make sense to them You will need patience… more than strategies sometimes We don’t expect you to “cover portions fast”. We would rather you help a child actually understand something, even if it takes time. You will also: keep track of student progress speak with parents when needed work with other teachers be part of school events and day-to-day life

What we are hoping for A strong grounding in Physics (Master’s or equivalent is ideal) Some experience working with children in this age group The ability to explain things simply The willingness to stay with a child even when they are not “getting it” And importantly, You should be okay not having all answers You should be okay learning along the way It helps if You have worked in an alternative or non-conventional school You are open to changing how you have taught before
