About Redwood Valuation Partners
Redwood Valuation Partners is a national valuation firm providing independent opinions for litigation, estate and gift tax, and complex advisory matters. We regularly support leading law firms, fiduciaries, and closely held businesses across the U.S. in matters involving valuation disputes, forensic accounting investigations, and expert testimony.
Our Litigation Support Valuation practice sits at the intersection of valuation, forensic accounting, and litigation strategy. We are frequently engaged in disputes requiring reconstruction of financial records, identification of non-operating or personal expenses, tracing of funds, assessment of economic damages, and development of defensible expert opinions suitable for court, mediation, and IRS scrutiny.
Position Overview
We are seeking a Senior Associate with 3–5 years of relevant experience in forensic accounting or dispute-related financial analysis to join our Litigation Support team. This position is based in India and works directly with U.S.-based senior professionals on active litigation engagements.
This is a technical production role. The primary responsibility is to perform forensic accounting analyses, build defensible financial models, and develop well-documented workpapers that support expert conclusions. The role requires strong analytical discipline, comfort working with disorganized or incomplete data, and the ability to meet litigation deadlines with precision.
The ideal candidate has direct experience in forensic accounting within litigation contexts, particularly marital dissolution or shareholder disputes, and is proficient in financial tracing, income reconstruction, and normalization analyses, as well as developing marital balance sheets and lifestyle analyses.
Key Responsibilities
Perform forensic accounting procedures in support of litigation engagements involving closely held businesses, high-net-worth individuals, and complex asset structures.
Trace cash flows across multiple bank, brokerage, and credit accounts to identify sources and uses of funds.
Reconstruct incomplete financial records using general ledgers, tax returns, bank statements, and third-party documentation.
Identify and quantify personal, non-operating, discretionary, or disputed expenses for normalization purposes.
Analyze related-party transactions, owner compensation structures, and intercompany activity.
Reconcile financial statements to tax returns and underlying account activity to ensure internal consistency.
Build detailed Excel-based models for income analysis, support calculations, damage modeling, and valuation inputs.
Prepare clear, well-indexed workpapers with documented assumptions and audit trails suitable for expert review.
Draft technical sections of memoranda and expert reports for senior-level review.
Conduct targeted research to support financial assumptions or industry considerations.
Perform internal quality control procedures on calculations, formulas, and data integrity.
Coordinate with U.S.-based professionals across time zones to meet court-imposed deadlines.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or another quantitative discipline required.
3+ years of experience in forensic accounting, litigation support, audit, or dispute-related financial analysis.
Direct experience supporting marital dissolution or other litigation matters is strongly preferred.
Demonstrated experience performing financial tracing and reconstruction of books and records.
Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including complex formulas, data reconciliation, and financial modeling.
Strong understanding of financial statements and U.S. GAAP fundamentals.
Experience performing income normalization, support-related income analysis, personal expense identification, or damages calculations.
Strong written English skills suitable for drafting technical content in expert reports.
Ability to manage multiple assignments with a high level of precision and documentation discipline.
Familiarity with U.S. litigation processes, discovery materials, and evidentiary standards is preferred.
Progress toward or interest in professional credentials such as CA, FAFD, DISA – ICAI, CFAP, CFE, or equivalent is preferred.
Demonstrated experience in several of the following areas is highly desirable:
Marital dissolution valuations and income analysis
Forensic accounting and financial tracing
Economic damages and lost profits
Shareholder or partner disputes
Estate and gift tax valuations
Bankruptcy, insolvency, or restructuring-related valuations
What We Offer
Competitive compensation commensurate with experience.
Exposure to complex U.S.-based litigation and valuation matters.
Flexible remote or hybrid work arrangements.
Structured skill development in financial modeling, forensic analysis, and report preparation.
Opportunity for advancement based on performance and technical development.
