Test Automation Engineer

with

5+ years of hands-on experience

in designing and implementing scalable automation solutions for full-stack and microservices-based systems. In this role, you will drive automation strategy, build robust frameworks, validate event-driven architectures, and ensure high-quality releases through strong collaboration with Engineering, Product, and DevOps teams. This is a high-impact role requiring strong technical depth and ownership. Key Responsibilities Automation Framework Architecture & Development Design, develop, and maintain scalable, reusable automation frameworks for UI, API, and backend services. Architect modular and maintainable test suites following best coding standards. Lead automation framework enhancements to improve execution speed, stability, and reporting. Ensure 80%+ regression automation coverage across applications.

API & Microservices Testing Build and maintain automated tests for RESTful APIs and distributed microservices. Validate service-to-service communication, schema validation, and data consistency. Test asynchronous workflows and event-driven systems (Kafka-based architectures). Implement contract testing strategies and mock external dependencies where needed.

Functional, Integration & Regression Testing Develop automated test cases for functional, integration, and end-to-end flows. Execute regression suites and perform detailed root cause analysis of failures. Conduct manual exploratory testing (~20%) to identify edge cases and usability issues. Work closely with developers to reproduce, debug, and resolve defects.

CI/CD & DevOps Integration Integrate automation suites into CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins/GitHub Actions/GitLab CI). Configure automated test triggers for build validation and release gates. Implement parallel execution strategies to reduce test cycle time. Maintain dashboards and reporting metrics for stakeholders.

Quality Engineering Contribute to automation strategy and roadmap planning. Participate in Agile ceremonies and drive shift-left testing practices. Continuously evaluate and adopt new tools, frameworks, and automation best practices.

Required Skills & Experience 5+ years of experience in Test Automation

for full-stack and microservices-based systems. Strong experience designing automation frameworks from scratch. Solid understanding of

Kafka and event-driven architectures . Proficiency in scripting/programming languages such as

Python, JavaScript, or Bash . Strong experience in API automation and backend validation. Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments. Strong debugging, log analysis, and root cause investigation skills. Experience with Git and CI/CD integration.

Nice-to-Have Skills Experience with

Tosca

automation tool. Working knowledge of Jira and Confluence. Exposure to performance testing tools (JMeter/Gatling). Experience with Docker/Kubernetes environments.
