About the Role: The Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET) is a core member of the development team responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining automated test solutions across the full software development lifecycle. This role supports our in-house digital front door application for employees—covering knowledge base, employee tools, enterprise search, and more—by translating requirements into effective test automation frameworks and strategies. The SDET ensures automated tests are integrated into continuous delivery pipelines to improve product quality, maintainability, and performance. The role influences quality practices by providing robust automation, test coverage analysis, and scalable testing solutions. Success is measured by the reliability of automated test execution, improved delivery pipeline efficiency, and enhanced software quality outcomes that enable better customer and employee experiences.

What You’ll Do: Design and maintain automation systems and tools: Design, develop, and maintain automated and manual tests to measure product quality and support continuous delivery pipelines. Design, Build, implement, manage and groom automated and manual test suites to improve coverage and enable rapid feedback cycles. Analyze code coverage using industry-standard tools (e.g., SonarQube) and recommend improvements. Design and execute test cases—including business-critical and functional scenarios—for unit, functional, performance, scalability, and durability testing.

Provide technical leadership and advance quality engineering practices: Define testing strategies and mentor peers across teams. Collaborate with IT partners, stakeholders, and product teams to create effective testing plans. Identify and provide solutions to improve test stability, coverage, and defect detection. Evaluate tools and technologies to enhance automation frameworks and overall software quality. Lead development of scalable test automation frameworks and embed quality engineering practices into team culture. Embed quality engineering practices into team culture.

Ensure requirements are testable and provide input during Agile delivery: Actively participate in Agile/Scrum ceremonies and provide estimates for user stories and testing tasks. Collaborate with IT partners, stakeholders, and product teams to create, provision, or modify test data through repeatable, automated processes. Lead test design and participate in code reviews to ensure high-quality feature delivery.

Coordinate with development and operations teams on testing practices: Partner with developers and Operations teams to ensure testing practices meet quality thresholds. Provide guidance on continuous testing and automation best practices across teams. Perform additional duties or project work as needed Support evolving business and technology needs through special projects, tooling enhancements, and quality initiatives.
