Job Summary: A Head of Marketing

is a high-level strategic role focused on merging brand building with performance-driven acquisition. This role requires managing the full marketing funnel, from brand awareness to conversion rate optimization (CRO) and customer retention.

Common KPIs for this Role:

Customer Acquisition Cost (CAC), Return on Advertising Spend (ROAS), Customer Lifetime Value (CLV), App Retention Rate, and Regional Market Share.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Strategic Leadership & Growth Define Marketing Strategy:

Formulate and execute the overall marketing strategy, including brand positioning, customer engagement programs, and market growth initiatives to boost sales and revenue. Full-Funnel Management:

Overseeing the entire customer journey, from user acquisition to conversion, onboarding, and retention. Hyperlocal Segmentation:

Tailor marketing messages to specific neighborhoods or pin codes rather than broad city-level campaigns. P&L Responsibility:

Manage marketing budgets to achieve profitability, focusing on high-ROI, measurable, and often viral campaigns for high-growth, startup environments. Market Intelligence:

Monitor competitive movement, local trends, and consumer behavior to identify new opportunities.

2. Tech Product Marketing Product Launch Strategy:

Leading the Go-To-Market (GTM) strategy for new product launches and feature updates, including positioning, messaging, and collateral creation. Product Evangelism:

Translating complex technical jargon into clear, compelling value propositions that highlight product benefits to users. User Adoption and Retention:

Working closely with product teams to gather feedback and drive engagement, focusing on reducing churn and increasing Lifetime Value (LTV).

2. Performance & Digital Marketing (Tech-Focused) User Acquisition & Retention:

Own performance marketing strategies (Google Ads, Meta, SEO/SEM) to drive app installs, website traffic, and repeat orders. CRO & Funnel Optimization:

Optimize the customer journey from app download to conversion using A/B testing and data analytics. CRM & Lifecycle Marketing:

Utilize CRM, WhatsApp, and in-app notifications to drive engagement, reduce churn, and increase customer lifetime value. Data-Driven Decision Making:

Use analytics tools (Google Analytics, Mixpanel, SQL) to track ROI on ad spend and optimize campaigns in real-time.

3. Brand Management & Product Marketing Brand Positioning:

Ensure a consistent brand message across all channels—digital, social, and offline—while maintaining a local touch. Go-to-Market (GTM) Strategy:

Lead product launches and new city/market launches with creative campaigns. Product-Marketing Alignment:

Collaborate with product and engineering teams to translate app features into customer benefits, improving user onboarding and app adoption.

4. Operations & Local Activation (Offline) BTL & Local Activations:

Execute below-the-line (BTL) marketing such as residential society activations, hoardings, and on-ground events. Partnership Management:

Identify and secure local alliances to drive traffic, such as partnering with local influencers, RWA organizations, or complementary businesses. Customer Experience (CX):

Work with operations teams to ensure marketing promises (e.g., 10-minute delivery) match the customer experience.

5. Team Leadership Team Building:

Recruit, mentor, and build a high-performance, agile marketing team. Agency Management:

Manage external marketing agencies, PR efforts, and influencer networks.

Specific Skills for this Role Data Proficiency:

Strong understanding of Excel, data mining, and SQL. Tech Savvy:

Familiarity with modern marketing tech stacks (e.g., CDPs, Automation tools, Attribution platforms). Agility:

Ability to operate in a fast-paced environment and pivot strategies rapidly.
