Location - Hybrid/Remote
Design end-to-end API and integration architectures using WSO2 API Manager and Choreo Connect for logistics and supply-chain use cases (shipment tracking, order management, rate & quote APIs, partner onboarding, etc.).
Define API standards, patterns, and best practices for internal, partner, and customer-facing APIs.
Design multi-environment topologies (dev/test/prod) and multi-region / high-availability architectures using WSO2.
Select and design integration patterns (synchronous, asynchronous, event-driven) for logistics workflows involving carriers, 3PLs, warehouses, and internal systems (ERP, WMS, TMS).
Platform Ownership & Administration
Own and govern the WSO2 API Management platform (on-prem, cloud, or hybrid) from an architectural and operational standpoint.
Plan and execute platform installation, configuration, and upgrades of WSO2 API Manager and Choreo Connect, including:
Cluster setup.
Gateway and Control Plane configuration.
Manage user, role, and tenant administration, including RBAC, multi-tenancy, SSO, and integration with external identity providers (LDAP/AD, WSO2 Identity Server, etc..
Define and oversee backup & recovery, disaster recovery, and capacity planning for the WSO2 stack.
Establish and enforce API lifecycle management practices (design, publish, versioning, deprecation, retirement).
Design and implement microgateway-based API deployments using WSO2 Choreo Connect.
Define standards for:
โข Gateway deployment models (sidecar, centralized, per-domain)
โข Routing, rate limiting, caching, and traffic management.
โข Canary and blue-green deployments of APIs
Integrate Choreo Connect with service meshes, container platforms (Docker, Kubernetes), and CI/CD pipelines.
Define and implement API security models: OAuth2/OIDC, JWT, mTLS, API keys, scopes, and fine-grained authorization.
Ensure data protection, compliance, and auditability across logistics integrations (e.g., data residency, PII protection, partner access control).
Work with InfoSec to align on security baselines, certificates/keystores, and secure configuration of all WSO2 components.
Define logging, monitoring, and alerting strategy for WSO2 API Manager and Choreo Connect using tools like Prometheus, Grafana, ELK/EFK, Splunk, or equivalent.
Lead performance testing and tuning activities: throughput, latency, caching strategies, connection pools, and gateway optimization.
Drive incident management and root cause analysis for API platform issues and production incidents.
Create runbooks, SOPs, and operational documentation for L2/L3 support teams.
Work closely with product owners, business analysts, and logistics domain experts to translate requirements into API contracts and integration flows.
Provide technical leadership to development, DevOps, and operations teams; conduct design reviews and code reviews where relevant.
Define and champion API governance (naming conventions, versioning, documentation, reuse patterns).
Support partner onboarding and integration of external carriers, suppliers, and customers through standard API/microservice integration models.
Required Qualifications & Experience :
Bachelorโs or Masterโs degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
11+ years of overall IT experience, including:
3โ5+ years of hands-on experience with WSO2 API Manager in production environments.
Strong practical experience with WSO2 Micro gateway / Choreo Connect.
Proven track record designing and implementing API-centric architectures and integration solutions.
Installing, configuring, clustering, and upgrading WSO2 API Manager.
Administering WSO2 components (user/role management, tenants, key managers, throttling, workflows, analytics).
Working with Docker and Kubernetes for deployment of WSO2 gateways and related components.
Implementing API security (OAuth2, JWT, certificates, mTLS, IP whitelisting/blacklisting, rate limiting).
Strong understanding of:
REST, OpenAPI/Swagger, SOAP (legacy integration as needed).
CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, Azure DevOps, GitLab CI, or similar) for API deployments.
Logging and monitoring for distributed systems.
Experience working in enterprise environments with high availability, scalability, and strict SLAs.
Preferred Skills
Experience in the logistics / supply chain / transportation domain (e.g., carrier integrations, EDI replacements via APIs, TMS/WMS/ERP integrations, track-and-trace).
Familiarity with other WSO2 products: WSO2 Identity Server, WSO2 Enterprise Integrator / Integration Studio, or Choreo platform services.
Experience designing event-driven or streaming integrations (Kafka, MQ, etc.) that complement API-based patterns.
Background in cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and integrating WSO2 in hybrid or multi-cloud setups.
Knowledge of API monetization, subscription models, and partner ecosystems.
Experience with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, Helm, Ansible) for platform provisioning.
