Oversee organisation, tagging, versioning, and archival of video and photo assets.
Define and enforce naming conventions, metadata standards, and DAM workflows.
Lead, mentor, and train Digital Asset Executives.
Ensure smooth asset availability for productions, live events, and client needs.
Maintain asset security, access controls, NDAs, and rights management.
Manage DAM systems, cloud storage, backups, and reporting.
Act as the escalation point for asset-related issues.
Requirements
4โ7 years of experience managing large media libraries (video/photo).
Prior experience in a team lead or managerial role.
Strong knowledge of media formats, DAM systems, and cloud storage.
Excellent organisational, leadership, and communication skills.
Ability to work under tight deadlines and high-pressure environments.
Roles and Responsibilities :
1. Digital Asset Governance & Ownership
Own end-to-end management of all digital media assets including videos, photographs, graphics, and project files.
Define, implement, and continuously improve asset organisation structures, naming conventions, metadata standards, and archival policies.
Ensure all assets are correctly ingested, tagged, categorised, searchable, and retrievable across systems.
Oversee the complete asset lifecycleโfrom acquisition and storage to archival and controlled disposal.
2. Team Leadership, Mentoring & Training
Lead, mentor, and manage Digital Asset Executives and coordinators.
Design onboarding and training programs on DAM tools, SOPs, security protocols, and best practices.
Conduct regular reviews to assess team performance, accuracy, turnaround time, and compliance.
Allocate tasks, monitor workloads, and ensure clear ownership within the team.
Act as the escalation point for team challenges and operational issues.
3. Workflow Management & Cross-Functional Coordination
Coordinate with production, editorial, creative, broadcast, and client-servicing teams to ensure seamless asset flow.
Ensure timely availability of assets for live events, broadcasts, social media, marketing, and client deliveries.
Anticipate asset requirements for upcoming projects and proactively plan storage and access.
Resolve bottlenecks, delays, or inconsistencies in asset workflows.
4. Quality Control, Versioning & Accuracy
Implement and enforce strict version control to prevent duplication, overwrites, or misuse.
Ensure file quality, formats, resolutions, and codecs meet internal and client standards.
Conduct regular audits to verify asset accuracy, completeness, and correct tagging.
Maintain quality benchmarks across all stored and delivered assets.
5. Data Security, Compliance & Rights Management
Ensure secure handling of sensitive, embargoed, or confidential content.
Enforce access permissions, NDA compliance, and internal security protocols.
Track licensing, usage rights, embargoes, and expiry dates for third-party or syndicated content.
Prevent unauthorised access, distribution, or misuse of digital assets.
6. System Management & Technical Oversight
Manage DAM platforms, cloud storage systems, media servers, and backup solutions.
Oversee regular backups, redundancy, and disaster recovery processes.
Coordinate system upgrades, migrations, and integrations with production tools.
Identify and recommend new tools or process improvements to enhance efficiency.
7. Reporting, Documentation & SOPs
Maintain detailed documentation of asset workflows, SOPs, and governance policies.
Generate reports on asset usage, storage efficiency, access logs, and compliance.
Provide insights and recommendations based on data trends and operational performance.
Ensure documentation is up to date and followed by the team.
8. Decision-Making & Accountability
Take ownership of digital asset integrity, availability, and security.
Make decisions on access rights, archival timelines, and workflow standards.
Be accountable for zero data loss, misplacement, or compliance breaches.
Ensure team performance aligns with organisational goals and delivery timelines.
9. Continuous Improvement & Process Optimisation
Identify gaps and inefficiencies in asset workflows and team operations.
Introduce automation, standardisation, and best practices to improve turnaround times.
Drive continuous learning and skill development within the asset management team.
Stay updated with industry best practices in digital asset management and media operations.
