Job Description: Solution Architect - Travel Technology

Job Summary We are seeking a visionary and highly skilled Solution Architect with deep expertise in the travel domain and a proven track record in cloud technologies. The ideal candidate will be a strategic thinker responsible for designing and implementing scalable, secure, and forward-looking technology solutions that align with our business goals. As a key member of our team, you will drive the architectural vision for our travel technology platform, ensuring it is robust enough to handle the complexities of GDS, NDC, and other booking channels while providing a seamless experience for our users.

Key Responsibilities - Architectural Design: Lead the design of end-to-end solutions for our travel technology ecosystem, translating complex business requirements from stakeholders into comprehensive technical blueprints - Technical Leadership: Provide expert guidance on the best architectural practices, design patterns, and implementation strategies to engineering teams - System Integration: Design and oversee the integration of multiple data sources, including GDS (e.g., Amadeus, Sabre), NDC, and proprietary APIs, into a unified and coherent platform - Cloud Strategy: Drive the adoption and optimization of cloud-native architectures (Azure (preferred), AWS, or GCP), ensuring our solutions are scalable, highly available, and cost-effective - Technology Evaluation: Stay at the forefront of industry trends to evaluate and recommend new technologies, frameworks, and tools that can enhance our platform's capabilities - AI/ML Integration: Identify opportunities to leverage AI/ML for personalization, process automation, and intelligent recommendations within the travel ecosystem - Documentation & Governance: Create and maintain detailed architectural documentation, including diagrams, data flows, and technical specifications. Lead design and code reviews to ensure adherence to established standards - Mentorship: Mentor and coach engineers, fostering a culture of technical excellence and innovation within the team

Required Qualifications

- Experience: 10+ years in software engineering, with at least 3 years in a Solution Architect role - Travel Domain Expertise: Proven, in-depth experience in the travel technology sector, with a strong understanding of: • Global Distribution Systems (GDS) like Amadeus, Sabre, or Travelport • New Distribution Capability (NDC) standards and APIs • Online Booking Tools (OBTs), PNRs, and other core travel concepts - Cloud Certification: Must hold at least one professional-level cloud certification, such as: • Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert (preferred) • AWS Certified Solutions Architect • Google Professional Cloud Architect - Technical Skills: • Expertise in designing and building microservices-based architectures, RESTful APIs, and event-driven systems • Proficiency with containerization (Docker, Kubernetes) and serverless computing • Strong understanding of database design principles, query optimization, and high-availability strategies

- Soft Skills: Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to articulate complex technical ideas to both technical and non-technical audiences.

Preferred Qualifications - Experience with API management platforms and gateways - Knowledge of security best practices, including OWASP standards and data protection protocols - Familiarity with DevOps principles and CI/CD pipeline automation - Experience or familiarity with applying AI/ML models to solve business problems (e.g., recommendation engines, chatbots, or predictive analytics).
