Senior Solar Project Engineer

Role Description The Senior Solar Project Engineer will be responsible for planning, execution, coordination, and timely completion of solar power projects (rooftop / ground-mount). The role involves end-to-end project management including engineering coordination, vendor management, site execution, quality control, and compliance with safety and statutory requirements.

Key Responsibilities: - Project Planning & Execution Lead and manage solar PV projects from project kick-off to commissioning and handover. Prepare project execution plans, schedules, BOQs, and resource planning. Monitor project progress to ensure completion within defined timelines and budgets. Coordinate with internal teams (design, procurement, finance) and external stakeholders.

Engineering & Technical Oversight: - Review and validate solar system designs, drawings, and technical specifications. Ensure proper installation of modules, inverters, structures, cabling, and associated equipment. Provide technical guidance to site engineers and contractors. Troubleshoot technical issues during installation and commissioning.

Vendor & Contractor Management: - Coordinate with EPC partners, subcontractors, and vendors. Evaluate vendor performance and ensure adherence to contractual terms. Verify material quality, quantities, and delivery schedules.

Quality, Safety & Compliance: - Ensure compliance with project quality standards, safety norms, and statutory regulations. Conduct site inspections, audits, and quality checks. Ensure implementation of HSE (Health, Safety & Environment) practices at site.

Testing, Commissioning & Handover: - Supervise testing, commissioning, and grid synchronization activities. Ensure completion of punch points and snag lists. Prepare project documentation including as-built drawings, manuals, and handover reports.

Reporting & Documentation: - Prepare daily/weekly/monthly project status reports, site expense report. Maintain project documentation, approvals, and compliance records. Coordinate with clients for progress updates and issue resolution.

Qualifications & Experience: - Education:

B.Tech in Electrical only Experience:

Minimum 5–8 years of experience in solar project execution (Rooftop/Utility Scale) Proven experience in handling EPC solar projects independently.

Required Skills & Competencies: - Strong knowledge of solar PV systems, BOS components, and grid connectivity. Expertise in project management, scheduling, and site execution. Ability to manage multiple stakeholders and cross-functional teams. Knowledge of Indian electrical standards, DISCOM procedures, and safety norms. Proficiency in MS Excel, MS Project / Primavera (preferred). Excellent communication, coordination, and problem-solving skills.
