Role Overview: We are looking for a

Backend Engineer

with expertise in

Node.js and Express.js

to join our growing team. This is a full-time remote position, specifically for engineers based in

India . You will be responsible for designing, developing, and optimising backend systems that power Zendr’s financial infrastructure. If you are passionate about scalable architecture, high-performance APIs, and fintech innovations, we’d love to hear from you!

Key Responsibilities: - Design, develop, and maintain robust backend systems using

Node.js

and

Express.js . - Build and optimise RESTful APIs for high-performance transaction processing. - Implement security best practices, including

encryption, authentication, and authorization . - Work with databases such as

PostgreSQL

to manage financial data efficiently. - Optimize system performance, ensuring

low-latency and high availability . - Collaborate with frontend developers, product managers, and other stakeholders to deliver seamless user experiences. - Write clean, maintainable, and well-documented code. - Implement automated testing (unit, integration) and participate in code reviews. - Monitor and troubleshoot issues in production environments. - Stay updated with industry trends, especially in

fintech and payment technologies .

Must-Have Requirements: - 1.5 + year of hands-on experience

in backend development with

Node.js and Express.js . - Strong knowledge of

RESTful APIs, microservices architecture, and API security . - Practical understanding of designing scalable backend systems - Experience working with

Prisma

for database interaction, migrations, and query optimisation. - Experience working with databases ( PostgreSQL ). - Proficiency in

asynchronous programming, event-driven architecture, and real-time data processing . - Solid understanding of

authentication mechanisms

such as OAuth, JWT, or OpenID. - Experience with

AWS or other cloud platforms

for backend deployment and scalability. - Strong debugging, problem-solving, and optimisation skills. - Proficiency in PostgreSQL, Prisma ORM, database design for relational systems, and managing

migrations (including indexing strategies, constraints, and transaction handling.). - Excellent communication skills.

Nice-to-Have Skills: - Knowledge of

WebSockets

for real-time applications. - Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices. - Experience in

dashboard development and web portals - Previous experience in a startup environment with a hands-on approach.
