Job Description
The Quality Assurance – Software role ensures software quality, reliability, and compliance across the complete Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC). The role works closely with R&D, system engineering, and validation teams to define quality requirements, review designs, and ensure effective verification and validation of software releases.
The role owns defect prevention, root cause analysis (RCA), and corrective and preventive actions for all software-related issues across development, release, and field use. It also maintains ISO-compliant software quality documentation, supports audits, monitors quality metrics, and drives continuous improvement to improve release stability, reduce defect leakage, and enhance overall product quality and customer satisfaction.
Major responsibilities :
Software Quality Planning & NPD Support:
Act as the Quality representative for software development activities. Work closely with R&D, system engineering, and product teams to define software quality requirements, review software architecture and design, identify software CTQs, and ensure quality planning across the software development lifecycle (SDLC).
Process Compliance & Software Validation:
Ensure software development follows defined processes and standards. Review and approve software test plans, test cases, and validation protocols. Support software verification and validation activities including unit testing, integration testing, system testing, and regression testing.
Defect Management, RCA & Corrective Action:
Lead Root Cause Analysis (RCA) for any software-related issue, including functional defects, performance issues, reliability failures, cybersecurity gaps, and field issues. Ensure corrective and preventive actions are implemented and verified for effectiveness.
Change Management & Release Quality:
Ensure all software changes are controlled through proper change management. Review impact analysis, risk assessment, and validation evidence before software releases. Support safe, stable, and compliant software releases.
Supplier & Third-Party Software Quality:
Evaluate and monitor quality of third-party software, firmware, libraries, and outsourced development. Support supplier audits, defect RCA, and compliance to agreed quality and cybersecurity requirements.
ISO, Documentation & QMS Compliance:
Maintain ISO-compliant software quality documentation including SOPs, coding standards, test records, version control, and release notes. Support internal and external audits and ensure closure of audit non-conformities through effective RCA.
Data Analysis & Continuous Improvement:
Analyze defect trends, test coverage, failure rates, and release quality metrics. Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance software reliability, maintainability, and customer satisfaction.
Qualification :
BE - Computers/Electrical and Electronics
Experience - 5+ years
