Highly experienced Senior Business Analyst with deep Retail Banking domain expertise to partner with customers in designing, evaluating, and implementing end-to-end financial systems. The role requires strong consulting capabilities, extensive knowledge across lending and banking operations, and the ability to translate business strategy into actionable system and process design
Job Description / Duties and Responsibilities
• Lead end-to-end analysis and solution design across core retail banking functions, including Loans & Credit, Branch & Customer Services, Mortgage Operations, SME/Small Business Banking, Risk, Compliance & Fraud Management, and Cards & Merchant Services.
• Assess current-state banking processes and define future-state workflows, operational models, and functional improvements aligned with regulatory and business objectives.
• Consult with stakeholders to define requirements for banking platform setup, integrations, product configuration, customer journeys, and operational workflows.
• Conduct industry benchmarking, competitive analysis, and market scanning to support strategic decision-making and product positioning.
• Strong understanding of payment rails and standards (domestic schemes, cross-border remittance flows, ISO 20022, SWIFT, NPP, clearing & settlement, FX handling).
• Expertise in payment processing operations—authorization, capture, settlement, reconciliation, chargeback handling, mandates (for Direct Debit), and risk/fraud controls.
• Perform strategic positioning assessments, identify opportunities for differentiation, and recommend commercially viable operating models.
• Build financial models to evaluate business cases, pricing models, credit impact, operational cost structures, and ROI for proposed solutions or system transformations.
• Convert complex business needs into detailed functional and non-functional requirements, use cases, process flows, and user stories
• Ensure clear alignment between customer expectations, regulatory constraints, and system capabilities.
• Define acceptance criteria, support backlog refinement, and collaborate with architects and engineering teams to ensure technical feasibility.
• Analyse regulatory requirements across KYC/AML, credit risk, consumer lending standards, fraud controls, and governance frameworks.
• Ensure the designed financial system complies with relevant national financial regulations and internal risk policies.
• Lead customer workshops, requirement discovery sessions, and decision-making forums.
• Validate system functionalities through test case reviews, UAT support, and operational readiness assessments.
Job Specification / Skills and Competencies :
• 8–12+ years of experience as a Business Analyst in Retail Banking, Financial Services, or Core Banking transformation.
• Strong expertise in financial modelling, competitive analysis, market research, and commercial assessment Deep functional knowledge in:
• Loans & Credit Origination and Servicing
• Customer Service Operations
• Cards, Payments & Merchant Services
• Risk, Compliance & Fraud Controls
• Excellent understanding of core banking platforms, digital banking, and industry-standard integration patterns.
• Exceptional communication, documentation, and stakeholder management skills.
• Relevant financial certification (preferred).
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Strong awareness of regulatory frameworks (e.g., TRID, RESPA, FHA guidelines).
• Knowledge of integrations with third-party systems, such as credit bureaus and appraisal services.
• Experience with Agile methodologies.
• Proficiency in tools such as Microsoft Office, Visio, and JIRA.
