We are seeking a highly experienced Lead Playwright Automation Engineer to drive enterprise-level UI automation strategy and quality engineering initiatives. The ideal candidate will be an automation leader with expert-level Playwright knowledge, strong Selenium background, and proven experience in building scalable, CI/CD-integrated automation frameworks while mentoring teams and partnering across engineering functions.
Responsibilities
• Design, architect, and scale Playwright-based UI automation frameworks with high functional coverage
• Own end-to-end automation strategy for regression, smoke, and E2E test suites
• Modernize and maintain legacy Selenium automation suites
• Implement self-healing and predictive automation mechanisms to reduce flaky tests
• Integrate automation suites into CI/CD pipelines with automated quality gates
• Develop advanced reporting, analytics, and quality dashboards for data-driven decisions
• Define automation best practices, coding standards, and framework governance
• Mentor automation engineers, conduct code reviews, and provide technical leadership
• Collaborate with Development, DevOps, Product, and Architecture teams for shift-left testing
• Evaluate and onboard modern automation tools, AI-driven testing solutions, and cloud platforms
• Act as a technical escalation point for automation challenges and optimizations
Required Skills & Qualifications
• 10+ years of experience in Test Automation and Quality Engineering
• Expert-level experience in Playwright using JavaScript / TypeScript
• Strong hands-on experience with Selenium
• Proven expertise in automation framework design and architecture
• Experience with regression, smoke, and end-to-end automation strategies
• Strong knowledge of CI/CD tools (GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps, Jenkins, GitLab CI)
• Experience with Allure reporting, Playwright reports, and test analytics
• Strong understanding of Agile testing and shift-left practices
• Excellent leadership, mentoring, and communication skills
Nice to Have
• Experience with AI-driven and self-healing automation tools
• Hands-on experience with cloud-based test execution platforms
• Exposure to enterprise automation governance models
• Strong background in DevOps collaboration and continuous quality practices
• Experience leading cross-project automation initiatives
