Job Purpose:
We are looking for a visionary Color, Trim & Graphics (CTG) / Color, Material & Finish (CMF) Designer to redefine the riding experience. What you’ll do:
Design & Strategy
Lead end-to-end Color, Trim, & Graphics (CTG) design for all projects, from initial concept to final production.
Collaborate with Product Strategy, Industrial Design, and Brand teams to align on project vision.
Translate the CMF (Color, Material, & Finish) strategy into creative solutions for both vehicles and genuine motorcycle accessories.
Use design storytelling to present material design and its emotional impact to stakeholders for approval.
Strategic Vision, Research & Trend Analysis & Forcasting
Conduct advanced CMF trend research, forecast future trends, and publish reports to inspire designers and guide material exploration.
Translate trends into physical materials to build and maintain a comprehensive material library
Research new materials and technologies, including benchmarking and understanding target markets.
Research and forecast design, colour and material trends within automotive and other industries, including benchmarking relevant competitors
Defining the hierarchy of materials that distinguishes a base model from a luxury or performance variant.
Translating abstract concepts into physical "theme boards" that inspire the broader design team.
Execution & Collaboration
Work closely with cross-functional teams, including product managers, engineers, and suppliers, to ensure designs are technically feasible and align with product goals.
Document CTG specification sheets for production handover and coordinate with the team to ensure design intent is achieved.
Create 1:1 CTG build vehicles for stakeholder approval.
Working with suppliers to engineer high-performance fabrics that are both aesthetically pleasing and durable
Designing vehicle badging, decals and exterior paint colours.
Develop graphics and colour concepts for vehicles, hard goods and accessories.
Drive CTG design for interdisciplinary projects. From kick-off to launch.
Work alongside other studio based functions: Design/ CAD/ Model making to develop exciting CTG proposals
Prepare 2D concept sketches using appropriate technology
Technical Implementation
Partnering with Tier 1 suppliers to develop proprietary paints and materials.
Ensuring that the material is actually manufacturable at scale and meets stringent safety and cost targets.
Maintaining the Color & Trim Specification, which meticulously lists every visible surface, its texture, and its color code.
Leadership & Cross-Functional Coordination
Leading a team of CTG designers, material researchers, and graphic artists and ensuring coaching and mentoring of the team members, including the fulfillment of their developmental needs
Presenting physical and digital models to senior leaders for the final design freeze.
Work closely with transportation and product designers to reinforce design with CTG concepts.
Work with Product Strategy to plan CTG across model year programs & special projects
What you'll bring:
Experience:
8+ years in a professional design studio environment on production projects (Automobile)
Qualification:
Bachelor's degree or above in Automotive/ Transportation/ Industrial/ Graphic Design (or similar)
