Role Overview
The Consultant in Aesthetic / Cosmetology will be responsible for providing high-quality aesthetic treatments, patient consultations, clinical procedures, and assisting in the growth and development of the Aesthetic Department. The role demands clinical expertise, patient-centric communication, adherence to safety protocols, and participation in marketing, training, and research activities.
2. Key Responsibilities
A. Clinical Responsibilities
- Conduct detailed patient assessments, medical history, and aesthetic evaluations.
- Provide evidence-based aesthetic treatments including (as applicable):
- Botox, Fillers, PRP, Chemical Peels, Laser Hair Reduction, Skin Rejuvenation, Anti-Ageing procedures, Medi-facials, etc.
- Formulate treatment plans tailored to patient needs and desired outcomes.
- Assist in pre-procedure counselling, consent, intra-procedure care, and post-procedure follow-up.
- Maintain accurate clinical documentation, photographs, and digital records.
- Ensure safety, sterilization, and adherence to clinical SOPs.
B. Patient Care & Communication
- Counsel patients regarding aesthetic procedures, risks, expectations, and realistic outcomes.
- Provide compassionate and clear communication to patients and caregivers.
- Guide patients through post-treatment care and long-term maintenance plans.
- Address patient queries and escalations professionally and promptly.
C. Operational & Administrative Responsibilities
- Coordinate with front desk, marketing, nursing, and other staff for seamless patient flow.
- Maintain stock records of consumables and raise requirements timely.
- Support business development by participating in patient awareness activities.
- Contribute to departmental planning, package creation, and service improvements.
D. Marketing & Business Development
- Participate in promotional activities, shoots, social media campaigns, patient education drives.
- Support patient acquisition, lead conversion, and follow-up processes.
- Collaborate with marketing teams to create treatment-related content.
E. Training, Research & Continuous Learning
- Participate in CMEs, workshops, conferences, and knowledge-upgrade activities.
- Engage in clinical research, audits, publication work, and case reports.
- Train junior staff, therapists, and new consultants on protocols and standards.
F. Compliance, Ethics & Safety
- Ensure that all procedures adhere to medico-legal guidelines and patient rights.
- Maintain strict confidentiality of patient information, data, images, and clinic processes.
- Follow all hospital policies including HR, safety, biometrics, documentation, etc.
- Report any clinical complications immediately and prevent recurrence through SOP updates.
3. Required Qualifications & Skills
Education & Licensing
- MBBS / MD / Diploma / Fellowship in Dermatology, Cosmetology, Aesthetic Medicine or equivalent.
- Valid registration with appropriate Medical Council (as applicable).
Clinical Skills
- Hands-on experience in aesthetic procedures (at least basic-level mandatory).
- Strong understanding of skin anatomy, injectables, lasers, and cosmetic science.
- Ability to manage complications appropriately and confidently.
Soft Skills
- Excellent communication and patient counselling skills.
- Empathy, patience, and ability to handle aesthetic patients tactfully.
- Team-oriented attitude with strong ethical values and professionalism.
4. Work Schedule & Expectations
- Minimum 8 hours per day as per hospital timing.
- Availability for extended hours based on patient demand or emergencies.
- Participation in weekend camps or promotional events when required.
