Job Summary:
We are seeking a qualified and patient-focused Optometrist to examine patients’ eyes, diagnose vision problems, and prescribe corrective lenses or appropriate treatment. The candidate will support ophthalmologists in delivering high-quality eye care services.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive eye examinations and vision tests
- Diagnose refractive errors (myopia, hyperopia, astigmatism, presbyopia)
- Prescribe spectacles and contact lenses
- Perform refraction and assist in optical dispensing
- Detect eye abnormalities and refer complex cases to Ophthalmologists
- Assist in pre-operative and post-operative evaluation of patients
- Maintain accurate patient records and documentation
- Operate and maintain ophthalmic instruments and equipment
- Provide patient education on eye care and lens usage
- Support outreach camps and screening programs (if applicable)
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Optometry
- Registration with State Optometry Council (if applicable)
- Freshers or candidates with 1–3 years of experience preferred
Required Skills:
- Strong clinical and diagnostic skills
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
- Patient-centered approach
- Knowledge of ophthalmic equipment
- Basic computer knowledge for EMR documentation
- Ability to work in a team environment
Preferred Skills:
- Experience in hospital-based ophthalmology department
- Knowledge in contact lens fitting
- Exposure to optical store operations
Working Conditions:
- Full-time position
- Rotational shifts (if applicable)
- May involve participation in eye camps and community programs
