About the role:
We are hiring a specialist who has already delivered measurable outcomes specifically through AI Overview visibility, LLM rankings/visibility, GEO (Generative Engine Optimization), and AEO (Answer Engine Optimization). This is not a traditional SEO executor role. You will own strategy, performance, and growth for assigned accounts and be expected to translate search behavior shifts into tangible business impact.
You will work as an independent contributor, directly with clients, leading weekly/fortnightly/monthly performance conversations with a consultative, outcome-first approach.
What success looks like (outcomes you will own):
Within 120โ180 days, you should be able to demonstrate progress across several of these:
Increased AI Overview presence for priority topics (coverage, consistency, and quality of visibility)
Improved LLM discoverability for brand and non-brand queries (ChatGPT/Bing/Copilot/Perplexity-style discovery patterns)
Growth in qualified organic traffic and assisted conversions attributable to content and SERP visibility improvements
Higher share-of-voice vs key competitors across intent clusters
Clear reporting that connects visibility to pipeline/revenue signals, not just rankings and tasks
Key responsibilities
Strategy and roadmap ownership (6โ12 months)
Build an action-driven roadmap aligned to business goals, ideal customer profiles, and conversion intent
Convert client offerings into topic/entity strategy that wins in AI-led search surfaces
Define measurable targets (visibility, CTR proxies, assisted conversions, engagement quality, share-of-voice)
AI Overview, GEO & AEO execution leadership
Design and run content cluster strategies that improve eligibility for AI Overviews and answer surfaces
Create FAQ ecosystems, structured content patterns, and supporting assets designed for answer extraction and summarization
Identify prompts and query patterns that influence LLM responses and discovery journeys
Develop competitor visibility mapping: where they appear, why they appear, and how we displace them
Drive content calendar planning with clear purpose per asset (coverage, authority, conversion support)
Advanced analysis and decision-making
Use GA4, GSC, Ahrefs, SEMrush (and other sources) to diagnose, prioritize, and act
Build insights like: intent gaps, cannibalization, SERP volatility, AI Overview presence, topic authority signals, internal linking effectiveness
Translate data into sharp weekly decisions (what to stop, what to scale, what to fix)
Client leadership and communication
Run weekly/fortnightly/monthly calls as the strategic owner, not a coordinator
Explain complex topics simply and confidently to non-technical stakeholders
Push back when needed, set expectations, and drive alignment to outcomes
Provide crisp updates: what moved, why it moved, what weโre doing next, expected impact
Must-have experience and skills
Total years of experience: 6+
Proven experience delivering outcomes specifically tied to AI Overviews and/or LLM visibility (not just โinterested in AI SEOโ)
Strong understanding of GEO/AEO concepts: answer targeting, entity-first content, query intent modeling, information gain, summarisation structure
Advanced SEO fundamentals (technical + content + authority), applied in a modern way
Strong with GA4, Google Search Console, Ahrefs, SEMrush: analysis โ insight โ action
Excellent English communication (verbal + written), comfortable working with Australia-based clients
High ownership mindset: you plan, you execute, you measure, you improve
Good-to-have
Programmatic content systems (templating with quality control, not spam)
Schema strategy for rich results + structured knowledge reinforcement
Experience improving conversion performance from organic traffic (CRO collaboration, landing page strategy)
Familiarity with tools/workflows for content operations and automation (e.g., Notion/Jira, AI-assisted briefs, SOPs)
