Role Overview
We are seeking a
Senior Data Analyst
with a strong background in
Finance and Accounting analytics
to join our Data & Analytics team. This role will partner closely with Finance, Accounting, and cross-functional stakeholders to deliver high-quality insights, robust reporting, and data models that support decision-making and operational excellence.
The ideal candidate has
5+ years of experience , is highly proficient in
SQL , and has hands-on expertise with
Tableau (preferred) or Power BI . You enjoy working with complex financial data, building scalable reporting, and translating business questions into clear, data-driven recommendations.
Key Responsibilities
Partner with
Finance and Accounting
stakeholders to understand business questions, reporting needs, and analytical requirements.
Design, build, and maintain
SQL-based datasets, views, and queries
to support recurring and ad hoc analysis.
Develop, enhance, and maintain
dashboards and reports
in Tableau (preferred) or Power BI, ensuring they are accurate, reliable, and user-friendly.
Support
month-end and quarter-end close
processes with reconciliations, variance analyses, and operational reporting as needed.
Analyze financial and operational data to identify
trends, anomalies, and opportunities
for process improvement, cost optimization, and revenue growth.
Collaborate with data engineering and analytics teams to improve
data models, data quality, and documentation
across Finance/Accounting domains.
Translate complex findings into
clear narratives and recommendations
for non-technical stakeholders, including presentations and written summaries.
Contribute to the design and implementation of
automation and standardization
for recurring Finance/Accounting reporting and metrics.
Ensure that reports and analyses adhere to
controls, data governance, and audit/SOX requirements
where applicable.
Required Qualifications
5+ years
of professional experience in a
Data Analyst, Business Intelligence, or Analytics
role.
Strong hands-on expertise with
SQL
(complex joins, CTEs, window functions, performance tuning). Familiarity with
dbt Cloud
concepts is a plus.
Experience developing and maintaining
dashboards and reports
in
Tableau (preferred)
or
Power BI .
Demonstrated experience working with
Finance or Accounting data
(e.g., P&L, balance sheet, cash flow, GL, revenue, expenses, AR/AP, write-offs, reconciliations).
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to structure ambiguous problems and drive to actionable insights.
Proven ability to work with
non-technical stakeholders , gather requirements, and translate them into effective data solutions.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain complex topics in simple terms.
Bachelor’s degree in
Finance, Accounting, Economics, Statistics, Mathematics, Data Analytics, Computer Science , or a related field (or equivalent practical experience).
Preferred Qualifications
Experience supporting a
FP&A, Controllership, or Accounting
team in a high-growth or technology environment.
Familiarity with
cloud data warehouses
(e.g., Snowflake, BigQuery, Redshift) and modern data stacks.
Experience with
version control
(e.g., Git) and/or
workflow orchestration
tools is a plus.
Exposure to
SOX, internal controls, or audit
processes related to financial reporting.
Basic proficiency in
Python or R
or advanced analytics, if needed.
