Job Description
Nestology is on a mission to make the first three years of parenting calmer, clearer, and more confident for families. As a UI Designer cum Researcher, you will design intuitive, calming interfaces and ground them in real insights from parents of 0โ3 year olds.
About Nestology
Nestology offers a 360ยฐ ecosystem for parents of infants and toddlers, combining structured guidance, routines, play ideas, expert support, and community in one place. The product experience aims to feel warm, simple, and trustworthy, especially for new and often overwhelmed parents.
Role overview
As a UI Designer cum Researcher, you will own both sides of the loop: understanding parent behaviour through research and turning those insights into thoughtful interface designs. You will work closely with product, content, and engineering to craft flows that fit naturally into a parentโs day.
Key responsibilities
โ
Plan and conduct user research (interviews, usability tests, simple surveys) with parents and caregivers to understand needs, pain points, and behaviours.
โ
Synthesise research into personas, journeys, insights, and clear problem statements that guide design decisions.
โ
Design mobile-first UX for key product flows: onboarding, dashboards, tracking, routines, content, and expert interactions.
โ
Create wireframes, high-fidelity screens, design systems/components, and interaction states for app and web experiences.
โ
Run usability tests on prototypes, capture feedback, and iterate on designs to improve clarity, ease, and emotional comfort.
โ
Collaborate with product managers to define requirements and with engineers to ensure design handoff is smooth and feasible.
โ
Maintain a consistent visual language (layout, typography, colour, components) that reflects Nestologyโs brand and is accessible and friendly.
โ
Document research findings and design decisions so they are easy for the wider team to understand and reuse.
Requirements
โ
2โ5 years of experience in UI/UX, product design, or UX research roles; experience with consumer mobile apps is strongly preferred.
โ
Strong portfolio showcasing interface design for digital products and at least some examples of user research or usability testing.
โ
Proficiency with modern design tools (e.g., Figma or similar) for wireframing, prototyping, and design systems.
โ
Comfort planning and running basic user research and usability sessions, and turning qualitative feedback into actionable changes.
โ
Solid understanding of UX fundamentals, information architecture, and interaction design for mobile-first experiences.
โ
Ability to balance user needs, business goals, and technical constraints, and communicate trade-offs clearly.
โ
Empathy for parents and caregivers and interest in early childhood, parenting, or wellness products.
โ
Collaborative mindset, openness to feedback, and comfort working in a fast-paced, evolving startup environment.
What you will gain
โ
End-to-end ownership from insight to interface in a product that directly impacts everyday family life.
โ
Close collaboration with founders, product, content, and engineering on core product journeys.
โ
Opportunity to shape the design language, research practices, and experience standards from an early stage.
โ
A role that blends craft, empathy, and problem-solving in a mission-led context.
