Overview:
To lead and manage the compliance framework for all retail stores across the country, ensuring 100% adherence to statutory, regulatory, and internal policies. The role ensures risk mitigation, audit readiness, legal compliance, and operational discipline across all locations.
Job Responsibilities:
Regulatory & Statutory Compliance
Ensure end-to-end compliance with all central, state, and local laws applicable to retail operations (Labour Laws, Shops & Establishment Act, FSSAI, Legal Metrology, Fire & Safety, GST, POSH, Environmental norms, etc.).
Regularly review changing regulations and update internal SOPs accordingly.
Maintain licenses, registrations, and renewals for all stores and warehouses.
Compliance Audits & Risk Management
Develop, implement, and monitor audit programs for stores—operational, financial, and statutory.
Conduct periodic compliance assessments and gap analyses across stores.
Ensure timely closure of audit observations and reporting to management.
Store Governance & SOP Management
Create and enforce compliance-related SOPs, checklists, and guidelines for stores and regional teams.
Ensure compliance with brand guidelines, merchandising norms, safety protocols, and customer service standards.
Liaison & Legal Coordination
Coordinate with legal, finance, HR, and operations teams for cross-functional compliance.
Liaise with government bodies, regulatory authorities, and external auditors.
Support legal team in case of notices, inspections, litigation, or escalations.
Training & Awareness
Conduct compliance training for store managers, cluster heads, and regional teams.
Promote a compliance-driven culture across the organization.
Build awareness on statutory norms, policies, and ethical conduct.
Reporting & Documentation
Maintain centralized compliance records, dashboards, and trackers.
Present monthly compliance reports to senior management and board committees.
Ensure documentation accuracy for audits, inspections, and certifications.
Education & Experience:
Graduate/Postgraduate in Law
Experience in Food Laws is must
10–15 years of experience in compliance management; retail or multi-location operations preferred.
Experience handling PAN-India compliance audits and regulatory matters.
Strong understanding of labour laws, S&E Act, FSSAI, GST norms, and safety regulations.
