We are now expanding our infrastructure into the Additive Manufacturing (3D Printing) sector to provide bespoke engineering and design solutions for industrial and commercial sectors.

Role Overview Windbridge Concepts is expanding its digital manufacturing portfolio into the world of Additive Manufacturing. We are seeking a high-energy, technically-savvy Sales Engineer to become a part of our 3D printing service bureau. Your role is

to sell our on-demand manufacturing capabilities. You will act as a technical consultant to engineers and procurement heads, helping them outsource their prototyping and low-volume production needs to our facility. You will be responsible for the entire service lifecycle: from analyzing customer CAD files and recommending the right 3D printing process, to managing the quoting process and ensuring the final parts meet the client’s mechanical specifications.

Key Responsibilities Service-Based Business Development: Proactively hunt for prototyping and batch-production requirements in the Aerospace, Automotive, Medical, and Defense sectors. Technical Consultation: Review client STL/STEP files to determine manufacturability (DfAM). Advise clients on why they should choose our Service Bureau over internal production or traditional machining. Quoting & Estimation: Generate accurate quotes based on material volume, machine time, and post-processing requirements (e.g., vapor smoothing, painting, inserts). Account Management: Build long-term relationships with R&D departments to become their \"go-to\" partner for all rapid prototyping needs. Application Engineering: Identify opportunities where 3D printing can replace traditional manufacturing (e.g., converting a multi-part assembly into a single 3D printed component). Project Scoping: Work closely with the technical production team to ensure feasibility, accurate lead times, and competitive pricing. Market Intelligence: Stay updated on the latest trends in 3D printing (SLA, FDM, SLS, Metal AM) to keep Windbridge ahead of the competition.

Required Experience & Skills Mandatory: 3+ years of experience in a Sales Engineering role within a 3D Printing Service Bureau or Rapid Prototyping House. Expertise in Services: Proven track record of selling parts-as-a-service rather than capital equipment/hardware. Technical Literacy: In-depth knowledge of polymer and metal additive manufacturing processes (SLA, SLS, FDM, Multi-Jet Fusion), material properties (polymers vs. metals), and the prototyping-to-production lifecycle. Software Skills: Proficiency in 3D CAD viewers and slicing software (Magics, Rhino, or similar) to analyze part volume and surface area for quoting. Network: Established contacts in R&D, Product Design, or Manufacturing departments who regularly outsource prototyping work. Communication: Ability to translate complex technical jargon into a value proposition for non-technical stakeholders. Education: Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing, or a related technical field is highly preferred.
