Job Description About Newton School of Technology:- Newton School of Technology (NST) is building a new-age technology institution focused on real-world learning, creativity, and innovation. Alongside education, NST produces

high-quality video content that captures student life, learning journeys, and ambition-ranging from stylised social media videos (IG Reels, Shorts) to long-form YouTube documentaries.

The Role:- As a

Video Editor,

you will be responsible for translating raw footage into compelling visual stories. You will work closely with the Video Director, writers, and producers to ensure that edits align with the shot breakdown, narrative intent, and overall visual style. This is a hands-on editing role, focused on craft, pacing, storytelling, and quality execution.

What You'll Do:- Editing & Storytelling Edit stylised short-form content (Instagram Reels, YouTube Shorts) Edit long-form YouTube Videos and narrative-driven videos Structure edits as per the writer's script and shot breakdown Maintain strong pacing, emotional flow, and narrative clarity Ensure platform-native formatting and delivery standards Visual & Audio Craft Perform clean cuts, transitions, and rhythm-based editing Basic color correction and grading for visual consistency Incorporate motion graphics, subtitles, and text overlays when required Collaboration & Alignment Work closely with the Video Director to execute visual intent Take structured feedback and iterate efficiently Ensure final edits reflect the planned creative vision Maintain file organization and project discipline Content Optimization Understand differences between: High-energy social edits Documentary-style long-form pacing Deliver exports optimized for YouTube and social platforms

What You've Done 4-5 years of professional video editing experience Strong portfolio across: Stylised short-form social content Long-form YouTube or documentary-style edits Proficiency in Adobe Premiere Pro Working knowledge of After Effects (basic motion graphics) Strong sense of pacing, storytelling, and rhythm Ability to interpret scripts and shot breakdowns accurately Comfortable working in fast-paced content environments Software & Technical Skills Adobe Premiere Pro (mandatory) After Effects (preferred) Basic color grading knowledge Sound design fundamentals Understanding of codecs, formats, and export workflows Portfolio Requirement Showreel / portfolio is mandatory Must include: At least 2 stylised short-form edits & At least 1 long-form or documentary-style edit The Impact You'll Create:- Elevate the storytelling quality of NST's content Ensure alignment between writing, direction, and final output Create scroll-stopping social videos and engaging long-form stories Maintain high visual and narrative standards across formats
