Security Infrastructure Engineer – KMS & HSM Operations

About the Role This is an operational role. You will own the deployment, configuration, and day-to-day operation of our Key Management System across enterprise environments, including those with existing Hardware Security Modules and strict compliance requirements.

Key Responsibilities Deploy and configure KMS infrastructure on Linux servers, ensuring correct integration with underlying cryptographic hardware including HSMs. Manage HSM operations in client environments including partitioning, key ceremonies, and FIPS 140-2 compliance. Handle key lifecycle operations including generation, rotation, and revocation in line with client policy. Integrate the KMS with client infrastructure using KMIP and PKCS#11. Manage X.509 certificates, CSR generation, renewals, and troubleshoot mTLS issues. Monitor system health, apply patches, and serve as first escalation for KMS and HSM incidents. Support pre-sales conversations with prospective clients on the technical side. Required Skills and Experience Hands-on HSM operations experience with platforms such as Thales Luna, Entrust nShield, or AWS CloudHSM. Strong understanding of partitioning, key ceremonies, and FIPS 140-2 Level 2/3. Experience operating enterprise KMS platforms such as HashiCorp Vault, Thales, or Fortanix. Proficient Linux administration including service management, log analysis, and network troubleshooting. Working knowledge of PKI, X.509 certificates, certificate chains, and mTLS. Familiarity with compliance and security requirements in financial services or other regulated industries. Good to Have Exposure to Confidential Computing such as Intel SGX or AMD SEV. Experience in or alongside enterprise security teams in banking or financial services. Basic scripting for automation and operational tasks.
