About the Role:
We’re hiring a Senior Frontend Engineer to build intuitive, high-quality user experiences for Lucio’s AI-native legal platform. This role focuses on translating complex AI-driven workflows into clean, reliable, and usable interfaces that legal professionals can trust and adopt easily. You’ll work closely with product managers, backend engineers, and designers to build scalable frontend systems, reusable components, and thoughtful user interactions. The role is hands-on and ownership-driven, with direct impact on how users interact with Lucio’s core features every day.
Key Responsibilities:

● Develop reusable UI components and contribute to a consistent design system.
● Implement efficient client-side and server-side state management for data-heavy workflows.
● Build robust forms and validation flows for complex user inputs.
● Optimize frontend performance through techniques such as code splitting, lazy loading, memoization, and efficient rendering.
● Collaborate closely with backend, product, and design teams to deliver cohesive features end-to-end.
● Ensure cross-browser compatibility, responsiveness, and accessibility best practices.
● Write clean, maintainable, and well-documented code.
● Participate in code reviews and contribute to frontend architecture decisions.
● Debug and resolve production UI issues with a focus on user experience.
Requirements:
● 5+ years of experience building frontend applications in production environments.
● Strong proficiency in JavaScript (ES6+) with a solid grasp of asynchronous programming.
● Extensive experience with React, including hooks, component lifecycle, routing, and complex UI composition.
● Experience working with UI component libraries or design systems (MUI preferred; AntD, Chakra, or Mantine acceptable).
● Practical experience with client-side state management (Redux Toolkit, Zustand, or similar).
● Experience with server-side state management or data fetching libraries (React Query / TanStack Query, SWR, or RTK Query).
● Hands-on experience building complex forms and validation flows (react-hook-form preferred; zod or yup).
● Strong understanding of CSS3, responsive design, and modern layout techniques (Flexbox, Grid).
● Proven ability to identify and implement frontend performance optimizations.
● Familiarity with frameworks like Next.js or Remix, including SSR/SSG concepts.
● Exposure to utility-first styling approaches such as Tailwind CSS.
● Working knowledge of Git and collaborative development workflows.
● Understanding of web fundamentals such as HTTP, REST APIs, and browser developer tools.
● Familiarity with modern build tools like Vite, Webpack, or Parcel.
● Awareness of accessibility standards (WCAG) and inclusive frontend practices.
● Ability to work independently in a fast-moving startup environment with high ownership.
Benefits:
● Competitive compensation aligned with experience and ownership.
● Unlimited leaves, including sick leaves, period leaves, and flexible time-off.
● High-autonomy, low-bureaucracy work environment focused on trust and outcomes.
● Opportunity to work on real-world AI products used by top law firms.
● Ownership over meaningful parts of the product that ship quickly to production.
● Close collaboration with product, backend, AI, and leadership teams.
● Inclusive, diverse, and innovation-first culture that values learning and experimentation.
● The chance to grow with a company building foundational AI technology for the legal industry.
