POSITION BACKGROUND
IHROS is in the people performance business, helping employers manage talent and build a more effective workforce through Strategic Consulting, Advanced HR Technology and Flexible Outsourcing services. One of our delivery center is in Chennai / India that performs product development, product implementation services and Customer Support functions. We are looking for a strong candidate to manage these functions at this delivery center.
JOB SUMMARY
We are seeking a senior technical leader to assume full ownership of the end-to-end technical architecture, product development lifecycle, implementation, and customer support operations for our flagship HR & Payroll product. This role demands deep expertise in Java/J2EE/Oracle architecture and coding, combined with proven delivery leadership in HR/Payroll product implementations. You will drive innovation in emerging areas such as AI integration and cloud-native solutions while leading the delivery team, ensure high-quality deliveries, meet SLAs, and report directly to Asia HQ.
DUTIES & ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
- Own technical architecture: evaluate/propose platform improvements for performance, scalability, reliability; design major components/integrations; hands-on coding (Java/J2EE, Web Services, Spring, Hibernate/ORM), PoCs, and troubleshooting.
- Lead product development: guide Technical Lead, Architect, and developers in delivering features, customizations, enhancements, and architectural debt resolution.
- Manage full-cycle client implementations: apply HR & Payroll methodologies; lead remote Senior/Junior Implementation Analysts; monitor risks, issues, dependencies, timelines, and quality for successful go-lives.
- Oversee Customer Support: monitor team performance; ensure timely resolution of internal/external issues within SLAs.
- Provide technical leadership: direction, best practices, code reviews, mentoring; foster customer-oriented mindset across Product, Implementation, and Support teams.
- Drive continuous improvement: process optimization, automation, lessons learned.
- Demonstrate ownership for offshore team: build stakeholder relationships (internal, clients, HQ); report status, risks, forecasts directly to Singapore Director; occasional travel for meetings as needed.
ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS
- 10–15+ years in software engineering and delivery, with strong progression to leadership.
- 5+ years as Delivery Manager / Technical Delivery Manager / equivalent, leading cross-functional teams of 30+ members.
- 10+ years hands-on Java / J2EE / Web Services, Spring Framework, ORM (Hibernate/iBATIS), Oracle Database (SQL/PL/SQL/performance), web technologies (HTML5/CSS), build tools.
- Proven track record in HR, Payroll, Talent Management, or HRIS implementations (3+ full-cycle projects preferred; domain knowledge essential).
- Excellent communication skills (verbal/written) for presenting to large audiences, senior stakeholders, and managing remote/cross-cultural teams.
- Experience leading offshore/distributed teams in product + implementation + support models.
- Degree in Computer Science/IT or equivalent (preferred).
- PMP or similar certification (plus).
PREFERRED SKILLS
- Prior Technical Architect experience on major J2EE/enterprise-scale projects.
- Knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS/Azure), microservices architecture, modern integration patterns (REST APIs, event-driven), DevOps practices (CI/CD pipelines, containers/Docker/Kubernetes), mobile app technologies.
- Agile/Scrum in offshore environments; familiarity with AI/ML integration, agentic/generative AI, complex data migrations or emerging trends like real-time analytics and hyper-personalization.
