Cloud-Native Application Support Engineer

Job Description

We are looking for a Cloud-Native Application Support Engineer to support and maintain a live production environment while assisting in the migration from a PHP-based architecture to a Node.js-based, cloud-native stack on Microsoft Azure. This role involves L2/L3 application support, troubleshooting complex production issues, and working closely with engineering teams to ensure system reliability and performance.

Key Responsibilities

- Provide L2/L3 support for cloud-native, production applications - Troubleshoot and maintain applications built on PHP, Linux VMs, and Redis - Support and manage Azure SQL, Azure Service Bus, Storage, and Azure Functions - Monitor application performance, availability, and system stability - Support real-time communication systems using WebRTC - Assist in the migration from PHP to Node.js architecture - Identify root causes, implement fixes, and recommend long-term improvements - Work during US business hours to support global users and stakeholders

Required Skills

- Strong experience with PHP and Linux environments - Hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure services - Good knowledge of Redis, Azure SQL, and Azure Service Bus - Understanding of cloud-native and event-driven architectures - Familiarity with monitoring, logging, and production support processes - Willingness to work in night shift (US hours)

Experience & Qualifications

- 5+ years of experience in application support, cloud support, or cloud development - Experience with Node.js and Azure PaaS services is a strong plus - Experience supporting high-availability, real-time systems preferred
