About the Role
We are hiring a
Project Engineer – Process Equipment
for end-to-end execution of
static process equipment manufacturing projects
within the factory. The role is
entirely shop-floor and office based
and involves close coordination with
design, stores, purchase, QA/QC, and fabrication teams .
The position requires strong hands-on capability in
material planning, BOM control, fabrication monitoring, and documentation
to ensure timely and cost-effective project delivery.
Key Responsibilities
Project Execution & Coordination
Execute process equipment projects from order handover to final dispatch.
Prepare and monitor project schedules, internal milestones, and progress reports.
Coordinate daily with design, stores, purchase, QA/QC, and fabrication departments.
Material Planning & Procurement Support
Prepare
Material Take-Off (MTO)
and
Bill of Materials (BOM)
from approved drawings.
Raise
material indents / purchase requisitions
for raw materials, bought-out items, and subcontracted services.
Track material availability with stores and purchase teams to avoid production delays.
Ensure correct material grades, quantities, heat numbers, and traceability.
Engineering & Documentation
Review GA drawings, fabrication drawings, datasheets, and client specifications.
Prepare and control
QAP, ITP, MDR, welding documentation, and as-built records .
Ensure compliance with applicable codes and standards (ASME, IS, client specs).
Fabrication & Quality Control
Monitor shop-floor activities including fabrication, welding, machining, NDT, PWHT, hydro testing, and painting.
Coordinate internal inspections and third-party inspections (TPI).
Close NCRs, deviations, and documentation gaps in coordination with QA/QC.
Client & Internal Communication
Act as the internal project focal point for technical and commercial coordination.
Support client inspections, document submissions, and clarifications.
Maintain clear project communication and status reporting.
Required Qualifications
B.E. / B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering
3–8 years of experience in
process equipment manufacturing / heavy fabrication
Strong exposure to
factory execution of static equipment
Technical Skills
Process equipment: pressure vessels, heat exchangers, columns, reactors, skids, tanks
Material grades (CS, AS, SS), welding and NDT practices
Working knowledge of ASME Sec VIII, IS codes
Material take-off (MTO), BOM preparation, and indenting
QA/QC documentation and inspection coordination
Proficiency in MS Excel and basic ERP systems
Soft Skills
Strong coordination and follow-up skills
Structured, detail-oriented working style
Ownership mindset for project delivery
Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
