Job Summary:
We are seeking a qualified and patient-focused Optometrist to examine patients’ eyes, diagnose vision problems, and prescribe corrective lenses or appropriate treatment. The candidate will support ophthalmologists in delivering high-quality eye care services.
Key Responsibilities:
Conduct comprehensive eye examinations and vision tests
Diagnose refractive errors (myopia, hyperopia, astigmatism, presbyopia)
Prescribe spectacles and contact lenses
Perform refraction and assist in optical dispensing
Detect eye abnormalities and refer complex cases to Ophthalmologists
Assist in pre-operative and post-operative evaluation of patients
Maintain accurate patient records and documentation
Operate and maintain ophthalmic instruments and equipment
Provide patient education on eye care and lens usage
Support outreach camps and screening programs (if applicable)
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree in Optometry
Registration with State Optometry Council (if applicable)
Freshers or candidates with 1–3 years of experience preferred
Required Skills:
Strong clinical and diagnostic skills
Good communication and interpersonal skills
Patient-centered approach
Knowledge of ophthalmic equipment
Basic computer knowledge for EMR documentation
Ability to work in a team environment
Preferred Skills:
Experience in hospital-based ophthalmology department
Knowledge in contact lens fitting
Exposure to optical store operations
Working Conditions:
Full-time position
Rotational shifts (if applicable)
May involve participation in eye camps and community programs
