Job Description
Oracle’s Support organization helps customers succeed after purchase by delivering high-quality support, troubleshooting, and best-practice guidance across Oracle technologies. The team serves as an advocate for customer needs, partnering closely with internal engineering, operations, and architecture groups to resolve complex issues, improve service reliability, and drive measurable outcomes in availability and performance.
Key Responsibilities
Define and govern enterprise Oracle database architecture
for mission-critical banking systems, including standards for scalability, resilience, lifecycle, consolidation, and capacity planning.
Architect HA/DR topologies
across data center and disaster recovery sites using Oracle RAC, Data Guard/Active Data Guard, and zero/near-zero downtime patterns (e.g., rolling upgrades, Edition-Based Redefinition).
Lead advanced performance engineering
for OLTP-heavy workloads using AWR/ASH, SQL trace, execution plan analysis, wait-event methodology, SQL Monitor, and Real-Time ADDM; establish baselines and performance dashboards.
Diagnose and remediate systemic bottlenecks
(I/O, CPU, memory, contention, network latency) and optimize indexing, partitioning, query design, PL/SQL, and connection pooling patterns.
Own RPO/RTO and DR assurance
aligned to banking regulatory expectations; plan and execute DR drills/failover simulations, maintain audit-ready evidence, and validate backup/recovery frameworks (RMAN, incremental merge, restore testing).
Drive security hardening and compliance
including least privilege/RBAC, TDE, encryption in transit (SSL/TLS), wallet management, data masking for non-prod, and audit support (including regulator-facing readiness).
Increase operational excellence through automation and observability
using Shell/Python/Ansible and IaC principles; standardize patch/upgrade/rollback processes; improve MTTD/MTTR via structured incident response.
Lead stakeholder engagement and technical governance
across Core Banking, Payments/UPI, Digital Channels, Treasury, Risk/Compliance, and Reporting; mentor senior DBAs and influence architecture decisions through reviews and CABs.
