Job Description

Description The Geotechnical Engineer is responsible for planning and executing geotechnical investigations, analysing soil and rock conditions, and developing safe, cost-effective design solutions for infrastructure and building projects. This role involves interpreting site data, preparing technical reports, and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams, clients, and authorities to ensure compliance with local standards and successful project delivery. Responsibilities Undertake detailed geotechnical design for projects such as deep excavations, tunneling, foundations, and ground improvement works. • Develop design concepts, construction methodologies, and provide technical input during project execution. • Liaise with clients, consultants, contractors, and local authorities (e.g., LTA, BCA) for design approvals and submissions. • Prepare geotechnical reports, feasibility studies, and cost estimates. • Supervise site investigations, instrumentation, and monitoring during construction phases. • Ensure compliance with health, safety, quality, and environmental standards (SHEQ). • Support project teams in resolving technical challenges and maintaining high design quality. Health, Safety, Quality and Wellbeing • Support the Company’s HSEQ initiatives • Enforce compliance with SHEQ/Safety & Health policy, procedures within the company Embody behaviours that support a strong health and safety culture • Take reasonable steps to ensure personal health and safety, as well as that of others affected by activities. • Comply with safety rules, procedures, and instructions issued by the company or authorized persons. • Make proper use of facilities, equipment, and clothing provided for protection • Identify significant hazards associated with activities and eliminate them where possible • Participate in necessary health and safety training • Foster good working relationships and embrace diversity and inclusion • Support employees' overall wellbeing to create a healthy and productive workplace Self-Development • Take the lead to establish personal career experiences, development and performance goals through regular conversations • Keep up-to-date with developments in your professional area • Make use of expert collaboration opportunities such as PANS to develop and maintain a network of technical/professional support and excellence • Achieve and/or maintain professional registrations/licences relevant to your role • Regularly reflect on the contribution you make to your team culture to embrace diversity, strive for excellence and demonstrate our Guiding Principles Qualifications • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Geotechnical Engineering (Master’s preferred). • Experience: 12+ years of relevant geotechnical design experience in consultancy environment. • Proven track record in deep excavations, tunnelling, ERSS, pile design, and ground improvement. • Technical Skills: Proficiency in PLAXIS 2D/3D and other geotechnical analysis tools. • Familiarity with Eurocodes and Singapore standards (LTA, BCA). • Soft Skills: Strong communication and teamwork abilities; ability to work collaboratively across disciplines and interface confidently with stakeholders. • Additional: Knowledge of groundwater control, instrumentation, and construction supervision • commitment to health, safety, and quality standards.
