Role Description
This is a full-time on-site role located in a residential academy in Navi Mumbai for a Sports and Performance Psychologist. The psychologist will provide psychological assessments, counselling, and mental health support to athletes, helping them improve their performance and overall well-being. Key responsibilities include conducting individualized sessions, designing and implementing mental conditioning programs, performing psychological assessments, and collaborating with coaches, medical staff, and management. The role also involves monitoring athletes' psychological progress and integrating evidence-based practices into training and recovery plans. As it is a residential setup, the applicant will be based full time in the academy and will be working 6 days a week which includes being on the football pitch for training sessions and competitive matches daily. The role involves working with elite youth athletes and the work culture requires the applicant to be involved in the holistic development of the athletes.
Qualifications
Strong foundation in Psychology with expertise in areas such as Mental Health and Counselling.
Proficiency in conducting Psychological Assessments and applying evidence-based interventions.
Basic understanding of medical principles as they relate to athlete mental health and performance.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills for working with athletes, coaches, and interdisciplinary teams.
Master’s or Doctoral degree in Sports Psychology is required.
Prior experience of 3-4 years working with athletes is highly desirable.
Ability to collaborate across diverse teams and manage multiple priorities effectively.
The role is heavily dependent on sports’ psychology based around the football and would require the applicant to be well versed with football too.
