Summary:
The ETS Capital Analyst or Strategic Capital Analyst is a highly cross-functional role that will support the team on activities related to business/market intelligence, strategy development, M&A, equity investments, and growth partnerships in both domestic and international markets. The position will be part of the ETS Strategic Capital team and will work with Strategic Business Units (SBUs), Finance, and Legal to develop, support and execute strategies and actions that enhance growth opportunities and ensure long-term sustainable competitive advantage for the company and its business units. The successful individual will support the team through market research, analytics, deal sourcing, project management, due diligence, transaction closing, and post-transaction integration.
Job Description:
Track business trends, market research, and key industry players/competitors
Identify new market opportunities and help with thesis/strategy definition
Evaluate strategic opportunities and make recommendations to the team concerning tactical \ plans/strategies (including risks) to implement new business growth activities
Support the ETS Strategic Capital team with all M&A and equity investment deal processes including deal execution (market analysis, prospecting, deal sourcing, due diligence negotiations, legal documentation, financial modeling, financial advisory and valuation of strategic alternatives, risk assessment, scenario analyses, etc.), transaction closing and post-merger business integration
Adhere to ethical standards and comply with the laws and regulations applicable to the job function
Experience and Skills:
Bachelor’s degree in business, Engineering, or Science preferred
2+years of investment banking that includes transactional experience in M&A, debt and equity financing, and strategic advisory; valuation & return on investment (ROI) analyses, and assisting in negotiations
Experience working on M&A and/or equity investment deals preferred
Highly effective interpersonal skills (written and verbal)
Intellectual curiosity and willingness to learn
Strong convictions & emotional intelligence to read the room and audience
Critical thinker to analyze and process high volumes of information and distill / synthesize implications and actions
Good listener who can glean value from differing viewpoints; ability to speak directly even when posing dissenting viewpoint
Comfort with quantitative analysis
Strong understanding of financial analysis and modeling
Team player capable of working within cross-functional/multi-functional matrix organization
Ability to adapt and manage competing priorities, responsibilities, and deadlines
Proactive self-starter comfortable with ambiguity and problem-solving
Comfortable with PowerPoint and Excel
