Marine Superintendent in Singapore.

Marine Superintendent (Based in Singapore)

ORGANIZATION: Reporting to the Fleet Manager, you will be a key member in the ashore team in-charge of managing the operations and performance of vessels assigned. Your key role is to ensure efficient and safe operations of the companyโ€™s vessels, quality management, and that all international marine requirements are adhered.

YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES:

Providing support to the vessel to ensure safety of the cargo, navigation, and other marine operational matters. Planning and allocation of resources, setting processes, implementing improvement plans in a rigorous and structured way for planned and routine maintenance of the ships under your charge. Monitor bulk carrier cargo loading, discharging, and carriage in consultation with vessel and owners. Oversee hold cleaning operations, ballasting, and de-ballasting in accordance with applicable rules and regulations. Monitor weather and route planning to ensure safe and efficient operations. Develop and implement voyage plans to maximize cargo capacity and minimize fuel consumption. Coordinate with vessel crews and shore-based teams to ensure smooth operations. Conduct regular inspections and audits to ensure compliance with company policies and industry regulations. Provide technical support and guidance to vessel crews as needed. Manage budgeting and cost control for assigned vessels.

YOUR PROFILE:

You must be a qualified Master Mariner, or equivalent diploma holder in marine/navigation. 1-2 years of experience working as a Marine Superintendent are preferred Fresh Master Mariner (CoC Class 1) candidates who are keen to transition into a shore-based role are also encouraged to apply. Minimum 6-12 months of sailing experience as a Master with COC Class1 on vessels is a must. Possess Shipboard ISM / ISPS code, Marine insurance, and Seamanship knowledge. People oriented and passionate about developing shipboard teams. Business acumen with capability to manage the budgetary responsibilities for multiple vessels. Good interpersonal and organisational skills; ability to communicate effectively with any stakeholder. Able to multitask and work under pressure to meet deadlines. Well updated with the latest regulatory requirements and its implementation.
