Role Overview
The General Manager – Projects is a senior leadership role responsible for driving end-to-end project delivery performance across multiple cities or business units. This role requires a strategic yet hands-on leader who can build systems, scale operations, and ensure consistent execution excellence across complex, high-value projects.
The General Manager acts as a bridge between business objectives and execution teams, ensuring that operational strategies translate into predictable, profitable, and high-quality project outcomes. You will lead delivery heads, strengthen planning frameworks, and establish governance rhythms that bring clarity, speed, and accountability to the organization.
You are a structured thinker, an operational strategist, and a hands-on executor who understands both ground realities and enterprise-level decision-making.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Project Leadership & Governance
• Drive overall project delivery strategy aligned with Zyeta’s growth and profitability goals.
• Oversee multiple large-scale projects across regions, ensuring timely, high-quality, and commercially successful execution.
• Establish standardized delivery frameworks, governance structures, and performance benchmarks.
• Monitor city-level performance and intervene proactively to mitigate risks and performance gaps.
• Lead quarterly and annual delivery reviews with leadership, presenting operational insights and improvement roadmaps.
Operational Excellence & Scaling Delivery
• Design and implement structured planning and scheduling systems across projects.
• Build robust forecasting models for manpower, procurement, and cash flow planning.
• Standardize the use of project management tools (MS Project, Zoho Projects & Sprints) across teams.
• Ensure strong cost control mechanisms and margin protection strategies.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance speed, predictability, and execution quality.
• Develop dashboards and reporting systems that provide real-time visibility into project health.
Financial & Commercial Oversight
• Ensure projects are delivered within approved budgets while maintaining margin targets.
• Review project P&L statements, cost variances, and financial forecasts.
• Collaborate with procurement and finance teams to strengthen commercial discipline.
• Approve high-value contracts, vendor negotiations, and major commercial decisions.
• Drive accountability for financial performance across all delivery leaders.
Client & Stakeholder Leadership
• Build strong executive-level relationships with enterprise clients and key stakeholders.
• Represent Zyeta’s delivery leadership in strategic client reviews and board-level discussions.
• Ensure structured communication cadence across clients, consultants, PMCs, and partners.
• Resolve escalations swiftly while maintaining trust and transparency.
• Strengthen Zyeta’s brand reputation for reliability, professionalism, and execution excellence.
Change Management & Risk Governance
• Establish structured change management protocols across projects.
• Ensure variation orders, scope revisions, and commercial impacts are properly documented and approved.
• Identify systemic risks across regions and implement preventive controls.
• Drive root-cause analysis for recurring delivery challenges and institutionalize corrective frameworks.
• Maintain operational resilience across fluctuating workloads and market conditions.
Leadership & Capability Building
• Lead and mentor City Heads, Project Directors, and senior delivery leaders.
• Build a scalable organizational structure to support rapid growth.
• Strengthen second-line leadership and succession pipelines.
• Foster a culture of ownership, agility, collaboration, and high performance.
• Spend time across project locations to stay connected with execution realities.
• Lead by example with clarity, decisiveness, and accountability.

Qualifications & Experience
• 15–20 years of experience in project management, construction, real estate, or allied industries.
• Proven experience managing multi-city or large-scale project portfolios.
• Strong financial acumen with experience handling project P&L responsibilities.
• Expertise in planning, scheduling, and project management tools.
• Demonstrated experience in scaling delivery operations and improving margins.
• Exceptional leadership, stakeholder management, and organizational development skills.
