Role Summary The Head of Marketing and Business Development will lead strategic efforts to promote IIMBx's online programs, expand its reach, and drive revenue growth through innovative marketing campaigns and strategic partnerships. This role is pivotal in positioning IIMBx as a global leader in digital management education. Reporting to senior leadership at IIMB, the ideal candidate will blend creative marketing expertise with business acumen to attract learners, forge collaborations, and enhance brand visibility in a competitive online education landscape.
Key Responsibilities
Marketing Strategy and Execution
Develop and implement comprehensive marketing plans to promote IIMBx courses, programs, and initiatives across digital channels, including social media, email campaigns, SEO/SEM, content marketing, and paid advertising. Analyze market trends and learner data to optimize strategies for maximum engagement and enrollment.
Business Development
Identify and pursue partnerships with educational institutions, corporations, government bodies, and tech platforms to expand IIMBx's offerings, such as co-branded programs, corporate training solutions, and international collaborations. Negotiate deals, manage relationships, and explore new revenue streams like premium certifications or enterprise subscriptions.
Brand Management
Enhance IIMBx's brand identity through storytelling, thought leadership content, and events. Collaborate with faculty and teams to create compelling narratives that highlight IIMB's academic excellence and the transformative impact of online learning.
Performance Analytics
Utilize data analytics tools to measure marketing ROI, track key performance indicators (KPIs) such as learner acquisition costs, conversion rates, and retention. Provide insights to refine strategies and report on progress to stakeholders.
Team Leadership
Build (over time, as the operations grow) a high-performing team of marketing and BD professionals. Foster a collaborative environment aligned with IIMBx's values of innovation and excellence.
Market Research and Innovation
Conduct research on emerging trends in online education, edtech, and management learning. Recommend innovative approaches, such as AI-driven personalization or gamified learning, to keep IIMBx at the forefront.
Budget Management
Oversee marketing and BD budgets, ensuring efficient allocation and alignment with organizational goals.
Compliance and Ethics
Ensure all activities adhere to educational standards, data privacy regulations, and IIMB's ethical guidelines.
Qualifications and Experience
Master's degree in Business Administration (MBA), Marketing, or a related field from a reputed institution.
10+ years of experience in marketing and business development, with at least 5 years in a leadership role. Experience in the education sector, edtech, or digital platforms is highly preferred.
Proven track record of driving growth in online or digital products/services, including successful campaigns that increased user acquisition and revenue.
For fractional roles: Candidates with 15+ years of senior-level experience in high-impact positions may be considered for part-time arrangements, demonstrating exceptional expertise and a history of strategic contributions.
Good to have : experience in marketing in the Middle East and ASEAN.
Required Skills
Strong digital marketing proficiency, including tools like Google Analytics, HubSpot, SEO platforms, and social media management.
Excellent business development skills, with experience in partnership building, negotiations, and deal closure.
