About the Role We're building AI-powered analytics and generative platforms for industry insights. As we scale, we need someone to own the reliability, observability, and operational foundations of our systems. You'll work alongside our product engineer, who focuses on features and user-facing development. Your focus is everything that keeps the platform running well: monitoring, debugging, security, performance, and code quality. You'll also write code and contribute to product work, but your primary value is making sure our systems are solid, observable, and secure. This is an early-stage hire. You'll set up the practices and infrastructure that let the rest of the team move fast without breaking things.

What You'll Work On Observability & Monitoring : Get our monitoring stack working properly (BetterStack, Sentry, etc.). Build dashboards that actually help us debug issues. Make production less of a black box. AI Operations : Track LLM usage and costs across providers. Log agent runs, catch failures, understand what's happening in our AI workflows. Security & Compliance Foundations : Set up the practices now that make SOC 2 achievable later. Access controls, data handling policies, audit trails. Platform Hygiene : CI/CD pipelines, testing practices, deployment workflows. Keep technical debt manageable. Codebase Consolidation : Look across our various projects and identify opportunities to consolidate, reuse, or productize common patterns. What We're Looking For

Must Have Full-stack fundamentals (React, TypeScript, Node, SQL). You'll write code, not just configure tools. Experience setting up monitoring and observability. You've made Sentry, Datadog, or similar actually useful, not just installed. Comfort debugging systems you didn't build. Messy logs, unclear errors, mysterious failures. Basic security awareness. You know what \"don't do stupid things with customer data\" looks like in practice. Systematic thinker. You notice when things are fragile and want to fix them.

Important But Learnable Our specific stack (Supabase, Vercel, etc.) AI-specific observability tools (LangSmith, Helicone, etc.) Formal compliance frameworks (SOC 2, GDPR)

Behavioral Fit Detail-oriented without being slow Proactive. You notice problems before they become emergencies. Good collaborator. You'll work closely with the product engineer and the founding team. Low ego. Willing to do unglamorous work that keeps things running.
