Job Description: Huge is looking for a Technical Lead to join the Technology team—a problem-solving professional responsible for the overall execution and organization of the development effort for large-scale technology engagements. The ideal candidate will own the ultimate responsibility of making technologies work together, delivering efficiently within constraints, and becoming a key contributor to the success of the project. This individual will transform requirements into architecture and design documents that the development team can use to build robust, scalable solutions. The Technical Lead is also responsible for leading a team of engineers in building performant, scalable, and accessible user interfaces, gaining buy-in for the technical architecture, and proactively identifying and mitigating technical risks. A successful candidate will possess advanced communication and negotiation skills, an innate ability to simplify complex technology concepts, and a strong capability to plan, prioritize, and integrate all components of a technical solution.

What You’ll Be Doing: Architecture & Strategic Planning: Drive Technical Discovery: Lead technical requirements gathering, use-case discovery, and platform analysis to ensure solutions are built on a foundation of deep technical understanding. Architect Scalable Solutions: Generate substantiated technology recommendations and maintain comprehensive software requirement specifications and architecture documentation. Strategic Estimation: Partner with Technology Directors to develop accurate time and cost estimates, outlining implementation solution plans that align with business objectives.

Implementation & Quality Leadership: End-to-End Execution: Lead all implementation, customization, and integration efforts, ensuring a high standard of quality and performance across the entire development lifecycle. Problem Resolution: Perform rigorous problem analysis and involve others in refining ideas to identify root causes, outline resolution options, and execute technical fixes for complex issues to drive buy-in and action. Integration Management: Identify and document critical integration points with third-party solutions, defining the specific tools and technologies required for successful implementation. Code Excellence: Oversee technical standards by performing code reviews, defining best practices, and contributing to company-wide knowledge-sharing initiatives.

Client & Stakeholder Management: Primary Technical Liaison: Serve as the day-to-day technical point of contact for clients, third-party vendors, technology partners, and internal stakeholders. Vendor Strategy: Evaluate vendor documentation and services to guide technology selection, ensuring chosen platforms meet the rigorous technical and business needs of the project.

Mentorship & Team Growth: Engineer Development: Provide technical mentorship to engineers, fostering a culture of continuous learning and proactive risk mitigation. Collaborative Buy-in: Act as the bridge between design, product, and engineering teams to ensure the technical architecture is understood and supported by all departments.

What We’d Like to See: 7–10+ years of experience developing and leading large-scale technology engagements, including at least 2+ years in an agency or consultancy environment. Demonstrated experience leading multi-disciplinary technology teams (8+ members), including engineers, QA, and DevOps, through the full software development life cycle. Proven ability to mentor junior and mid-level engineers, fostering technical growth and maintaining high standards for code quality and documentation. A high-level ability to rapidly analyze complex business requirements to determine technical feasibility, potential risks, and resource requirements. Advanced C1 level English fluency with the ability to communicate technical complexity to non-technical executive stakeholders and multinational brand partners. Expert-level knowledge of Modern JavaScript (ES202x) and TypeScript, with a deep understanding of Node.js for tooling, automation, and backend integration. Strong object-oriented design (OOD) skills and deep familiarity with enterprise architectural patterns (Modular Design, Micro-frontends, Monorepos, and Enterprise Design Frameworks). Hands-on experience with enterprise-grade CMS platforms such as Brightspot, Contentful or similar. Expertise in scalable styling architectures, design tokens, and Storybook-driven development to support robust, reusable component libraries. Deep understanding of REST and GraphQL API design, consumption, and the integration of complex third-party services. In-depth knowledge of WCAG 2.1/2.2, ARIA, and inclusive design principles, with experience embedding these standards into core design systems. Expert-level proficiency in performance profiling, Lighthouse audits, and Core Web Vitals optimization for high-traffic environments. Strong background in unit, integration, and end-to-end testing strategies using modern testing frameworks (e.g., Jest, Cypress, Playwright). Experience with application-level security best practices (OWASP, authentication/authorization protocols, and secure API design). Experience with Jenkins, GitHub Actions, or similar pipelines for automated builds and deployments. Deep experience with modern bundlers and build tools (Webpack, Vite, Turbopack). Familiarity with CDN/edge deployment strategies and cloud infrastructure (Google Cloud Platform). Familiarity with Cloud Build, AppEngine and Cloud Run. A degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field is preferred. Experience delivering high-impact solutions for large multinational brands in a fast-paced environment. Proactive in adopting and implementing AI-driven tools (e.g., Gemini Code Assist, Cursor, LLM-based automation) to optimize the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and increase team velocity. Demonstrated ability to identify repetitive technical tasks and leverage AI-based solutions to automate documentation, unit test generation, and code refactoring. Experience architecting security-first solutions—incorporating standards, global privacy regulations, and secure protocols—to safeguard enterprise data and multinational brand reputations. Proven ability to orchestrate concurrent workstreams and high-pressure deadlines through creative resource allocation, proactive risk triage, and a pragmatic approach to maintaining team momentum. Frequent meetings and active communication are core to this role, requiring strong client-facing skills, leadership in presentations, collaboration across multidisciplinary teams, and the ability to translate complex technical concepts into accessible language.

Additional consideration for experience with: Experience working with client specific release pipeline: Critique, Gerrit, Conductor. Management of User stories, features, and bug tracking with Buganizer & Taskflow. A background in Product Management or a strong understanding of Product Design (UX/UI), allowing for a more holistic approach to technical solutioning. Experience with high-end creative tech like WebGL, Three.js, or advanced GSAP animations to bridge the gap between technical architecture and world-class visual experiences.
