About the role:
As a
Product Operations Manager , you will lead the Product Operations function responsible for driving operational excellence across the end-to-end product activation and merchandising enablement lifecycle.
In this role, you will balance
strategic leadership with hands-on operational execution , ensuring that our product catalog operations scale efficiently while maintaining high data integrity and operational reliability.
You will manage and mentor the Product Operations team while building scalable processes that support rapid product launches, catalog expansion, and marketplace growth across multiple channels.
Working closely with
category managers, product managers, fulfillment teams, supplier partners, and Cimpress Technology , you will ensure that product launches are executed seamlessly and that our product catalog remains accurate, reliable, and optimized for performance across marketplaces.
This role requires a
startup mindset

You will also play a key role in driving
continuous improvement initiatives , analyzing operational performance, and implementing tooling and process improvements that allow the Product Operations function to operate with greater speed, accuracy, and efficiency.
What you will do:
Team Leadership & Capability Development
Lead and mentor the Product Operations team, fostering a culture of ownership, accountability, and operational excellence.
Provide coaching and professional development to build strong product operations capabilities across the team.
Define workflows, operational standards, and priorities to ensure efficient and consistent execution across product operations activities.
Develop onboarding frameworks, training materials, and documentation to support team scalability.
Product Operations Strategy & Operational Excellence
Own the operational strategy for product activation and backend merchandising enablement across marketplaces and white-label partners.
Design scalable operational processes that support rapid product launches and catalog expansion.
Identify operational bottlenecks and implement improvements that enhance speed, accuracy, and reliability of product setup.
Define and monitor operational KPIs to track performance and ensure continuous improvement.
Product Activation & Catalog Operations Oversight
Oversee the end-to-end process of internal product activation to ensure alignment between category strategy and operational execution.
Guide the team in managing PRDs (backend merchandising SKUs) to maintain high-quality product data and accurate mapping for merchandising teams.
Ensure operational readiness for new product launches and category expansions.
Drive efficient management of large-scale product catalog operations across multiple marketplaces.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
Serve as the primary operational interface between category managers, product managers, supplier teams, and fulfillment partners.
Ensure strong collaboration between teams to align operational execution with product strategy and customer demand.
Support strategic product initiatives by ensuring operational feasibility and readiness.
Process Optimization & Efficiency Gains
Continuously evaluate operational workflows to identify opportunities for automation, tooling improvements, and process optimization.
Partner with technical teams to enhance internal tools, workflows, and data systems supporting product operations.
Implement best practices that enable long-term operational scalability and improved team productivity.
Incident & Reliability Management
Establish strong incident management and root-cause analysis frameworks for product setup and catalog reliability issues.
Drive operational improvements to ensure a
minimum 98% first-time-right rate
for test orders and product setup reliability.
Lead operational retrospectives and ensure lessons learned are integrated into improved processes.
Your Qualifications:
9+ years of experience in
product operations, eCommerce merchandising operations, or catalog management .
2+ years of experience
leading or mentoring operational teams .
Strong experience managing
product data, SKU operations, product activation, and merchandising workflows .
Hands-on experience working with internal tools such as
MCP systems and fulfillment platforms .
Strong analytical mindset with experience using
BI tools and marketplace dashboards .
Excellent cross-functional collaboration and stakeholder management skills.
Proven ability to identify operational inefficiencies and implement scalable process improvements.
Experience working in
fast-paced startup or high-growth environments .
Familiarity with
printing technologies or custom print product operations .
Nice to have:
Experience managing product operations in
multi-marketplace environments (Amazon, B2B, DTC platforms) .
Experience driving
automation initiatives or operational transformation programs .
Experience defining and managing operational KPIs and driving measurable performance improvements.
Experience working with large-scale product catalogs in complex eCommerce ecosystems.
