OpenStack Cloud Migration Engineer 100% Remote Contract Role Work Hours: US EST

We are looking for a

Senior OpenStack Cloud Migration Engineer

to support large-scale infrastructure transformation and cloud migration initiatives. This role will focus on migrating workloads from

VMware-based environments to OpenStack infrastructure

while enabling modern

containerized platforms and infrastructure automation . You will work closely with

cloud platform, DevOps, and infrastructure teams

to design, migrate, and optimize highly scalable cloud environments.

Key Responsibilities Lead and support

cloud migration projects from VMware environments to OpenStack platforms . Design and implement scalable infrastructure solutions using

Terraform and Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) . Deploy and support

containerized workloads using Kubernetes . Configure and manage

KVM-based virtualization infrastructure

within OpenStack environments. Manage and troubleshoot

Linux-based systems

across cloud and platform environments. Collaborate with DevOps and platform teams to ensure

high availability, scalability, and reliability

of cloud services. Automate infrastructure provisioning and deployment workflows. Document migration architecture, processes, and operational procedures.

Required Skills Strong hands-on experience with

OpenStack cloud environments . Experience migrating workloads from

VMware to OpenStack or other cloud platforms . Experience with

Terraform or other Infrastructure-as-Code tools . Strong experience with

Kubernetes and container orchestration . Strong

Linux administration experience . Experience with

KVM virtualization . Ability to work in

distributed engineering teams and fast-paced environments .

Nice to Have Experience with

cloud platform engineering or DevOps environments . Experience with

CI/CD pipelines and automation tools . Experience working on

large-scale infrastructure or cloud migration projects .
